“Great Hotel and Bar and Great Location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We stayed here in Feb 2012. I don't know whether I should submit such a great review and let everyone else in on such a great secret.

The apartments have been recently refurbished to a good standard. There is a snack bar and a bar/restaurant on the lower, slope level, along with the ski lockers. The staff in the hotel are helpful and staff in the bar were friendly enough.

The Olimpiades is located right on the side of the piste and above a few of the chairs. You can take the lift in the morning to the lower floor take boots and skis out of your locker (which is included with the room) and walk out of the hotel door, put your skis on and you're off down to the first lift.

Ski back down at tea time, and straight into the hotel bar for Apres-ski and happy two hours! The bar can get busy due to the location and loud and boisterous, especially when there is live music on. We had a 10 year old with us, and it wasn't a problem.

The food served here was nice and reasonably priced. It was served quickly, there was no hanging round for ages, even when it was busy.

Our room, on the fourth floor was quiet and we were never disturbed during the evening/night.

Overall a great hotel, and recommended. We've already booked for next year!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the slopes!

We went skiing in April and had a fantastic time, we have never been to Pas or any Andorra resort before so didn't know what to expect, we booked a week before we went so we had to take what accommodation was available and we could not fault it. We were actually on the slopes, both ski in and out. The rooms were immaculate warm and we had views of the slopes so could watch everyone skiing in, there was also an evening where there were ski and snowboarders jumping off snow platforms right outside the hotel.

The hotel offered HB for a very reasonable sum if you booked for sc we booked HB and had a limited choice of meals but they were excellent. The only dissapointing aspect of the whole holiday for me was the smoking in bars and restaurants.

The actual area was great for skiing the apres ski was very reasonably priced and there were a number of lively bars if that's what you want. We were too tired after a days skiing so a quiet meal and a bottle of wine was enough.

We will be going back again and would definatley recommend to all.

Stayed here as part of a group of 25 and overall it was very good. The studio apartments slept 5 all in one room, which also included the kitchen and living area - a little cramped but it was fine. The restaurant/bar downstairs was very good and the prices were very reasonable. The most positive thing about Olimpiades though is the ski-in/out element. Also, the location of the lockers which meant you only had to walk a few feet to reach the slopes.

Spent a brilliant week with a large group of friends in February 2011. Apartments are located on slopes, therefore you can ski in/out at any time to access room or bar/restaurant.

Bar/restaurant staff were v friendly and food v reasonably priced. Happy hour 2 drinks for price of 1 each evening from about 430pm for 2 hours - even Magners/Bulmers cider available as 2 for 1.

Apartments very spacious and modern, bathroom particularly spacious and modern. Free wi-fi available in hotel rooms, however didn't appear to work in bar/restaurant area,

Would definitely come back here - best accommodation for location in Pas de la Casa!!!

This is one of the best hotels i have ever been too!! As a travel agent i would defo reccomend this.......... I have stayed in El tarter also in the nordic appartments del clos they are fab but night life and to have a walk there isnt much to do,, plus in pas you get a lot better snow!!!

I have been skiing for nine years and this is the best one i have been to right on the slopes, all the staff are nearly all irish!! there fab, pubs everywere!!

Right on the slopes, skiing lessons are great.
The hotel itself is the cleanist thing i have stayed in you could eat off the floor!!! you cant take boots and ski upstairs they stay in your locker near the front door in your hotel, very handy!!
Very cheap to shop. got a 1ltre bottle of vodka for £5 !!! could not believe it!! Booked again to go in febuary 2012 :)

Room Tip: get the appartments!! £10 more each well bigger!!

Just spent a week at Olimpiades, we were lucky because the snow was very good, got a bit slushy toward the end of the week, but slushy is better than icy! Compared to when I was in Pas over New Years the conditions were 100% better! Anyway this is a review of the hotel and not the resort, so here are my thoughts:

Pros:
- FREE WI-FI INTERNET both in room and in restaurant - really nice touch!
- true ski in- ski out (best situated place in Pas for this) - ski down to a choice of 4 lifts (2 of which take you to the top of the mountain), no walking in my 1993 retro but clunky ski boots!!
- every apartment comes with a lockable ski locker so you don't have your wet gear in the room
- very friendly and helpful staff, both behind the front desk and in the bar/ restaurant
- very clean and new facilities in bedroom which included: huge rain maker shower with two shower heads, towels and hand towels, kitchenette with toaster, kettle, two hot plates, microwave, all plates and mugs etc, all cleaning equipment like fairy liquid and sponges. Tv and plenty of wardrobe space to hang your gear.
- nice bar restaurant: nice enough tables and chairs with background music for dining, widescreen tv's showing sky/espn/setanta football games, British/Irish style breakfast lunch and dinner menu, do a curry night (curry and beer for 10 Euros), menu stretches from about 8 euros for a pizza to about 17 euros for top end meals. There is also a pool table (one in bar and one in games type room above).

Cons:
- would be nice to have a balcony but the windows all opened very wide so not really an issue
- communal area in the 1 bedroom apartment for 5 people was slightly small but really not a problem (just being picky)
- situated uphill from supermarkets so bringing food back is a good walk - BUT you can't have ski-in ski-out if you are close to the supermarkets so I would take the walk to the shops any day!! as you can imagine the way there is all downhill!

Would I go back?
- absolutely yes, this is a great place to stay.

Located right on the ski slopes.Ski out of the door in the morning and ski back in the door later.Large rooms with bunk bed sin some of them which can sleep 5 adults comfortably.Safety deposit in rooms.Meals are served in downstairs bar which seems to be run separately from the accomodation but it works well.We stayed half board and the value was really good.Prices were reasonable except for soft drinks. The cleaning was minimal and bed linen changed once midweek.200 Euros cash deposit per room caused some consternation even though it was refunded in cash on departure, leaving no time to spend it!
