“quiet bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

This place is pretty as soon as you go up the drive. There are plenty of flowers/ colour in the gardens. As soon as we arrived, we were shown to our room with large twin beds There were a couple of steps down into our very large shower room. (There was nice views from all of the bedrooms. ) We were told to ring the bell or phone a mobile number if we had any problems, as the staff were working around the house or in the garden. There is no tea making in the rooms, which is the only thing misssing, as staying for one night we did not miss a tv, as there are tv's in the lounge and conservatory. The breakfast choice, quality of service and surroundings was so good, that when we are in the area again, then we would go back.

This place was truly an hidden pearl. The house it self looks beautiful and the interior and furniture sends you back in time. Very impressive inside. The room was perfect with very comfortable beds. They had very nice public rooms which were open for you at all times. The view was great and just a few minutes walk you had a pub and a restaurang with very good food. If there is something negative to say about this place is that the breakfast could have been a bit bigger. Otherwise this place is just perfect!

Bendarroch is so impressive when you pull in the drive with fantastic grounds and large spacious rooms. Furnishings very quaint and in keeping with a period house. No TV or tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms but a lovely lounge and conservatory downstairs where tea and coffee is available. Breakfast was lovely.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a lovely view of the river and are very spacious

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this guest house after spending half an hour on our phones frantically searching for somewhere to stay for the night- considering we had slept in a bothy the previous night we didn't have any real expectations as long as it was warm. Bendarroch House completely surpassed anything we could have hoped for- the couple who own the house are lovely and welcoming, gave us a brief tour of each room then left us alone to our bedroom (number 25). The whole house is furnished beautifully and it's like stepping back to the early 19th century, and our room was no different; we had a lovely view of the river Tay and the most comfortable bed imaginable, along with a lovely fireplace and ensuite with an amazing shower. The room smelt lovely too! Because we came during early spring I think we were the only ones in the house and therefore pretty much had the whole run of the place, including a lovely open fire in the downstairs living room all to ourselves whilst we planned our route for the next day. Breakfast the next morning was lovely (I had pancakes and maple syrup, the pancakes were homemade and tasted incredible) and the breakfast room again has tranquil views onto the lawn (complete with pheasants). To be honest were so reluctant to leave Bendarroch house, we're determined to visit again this summer. Thank-you so much for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: We only stayed one night in room 25 and it was lovely. Recommend this room!

Myself and my husband spent a night here and I can only say what a beautiful peaceful place. The guest house was so lovely and with fabulous surroundings, I absolutely adored the bed and can only describe it like a very fluffy marshmallow, I could have lay in there for the duration of my stay had there not been so many wonderful sights to take in. and the icing on the cake for my Canadian husband was the breakfast of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, The staff were very helpful and welcoming and a credit to the owner. We will most definitely be returning for a longer stay.. thankyou again

Room Tip: ask for a view over the River tay

Bendarroch House is a real find; a lovely old place with a view of the River Tay and only a three minute walk to a great restaurant over the bridge. The house is charmingly furnished with some genuine pieces; it is like a time capsule of a Victorian/Edwardian Scottish home. There are lovely gardens on the river bank which in the summer must be beautiful to wander round or a great place to just sit in and watch the river. When we arrived there was a roaring fire in one of the guest lounges which made us feel very cosy and warm. The hotel is under new hands and yes there are a few things that may need freshening up but it really is a charming venue and extremely good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 are lovely - both are in turrets and are large with high ceilings and large widows ove...

Situated about 10 mins by road from Pitlochry and many other local attractions, this is well located. On arrival, the guest house promises much, but delivers little. The house looks quite imposing and is set in reasonably kept gardens that go right down to the river. Unfortunately, once inside, the experience goes quickly downhill. The interior is indeed a time capsule and would be perfect for a murder mystery weekend. Most of the furniture is of high quality, but the experience seems disjointed with mismatches everywhere. Everything is looking tired, weary, dark and dismal with the exception of the newish conservatory. This place needs some serious money spending on it to drag it into the 21st century, the dining room being an obvious example. (how much does a tin of paint cost?). Breakfast was adequate, however 1 rasher of bacon and 1 sausage, doth not a banquet make. The breakfast time of 9 - 9.30 is unreasonable and ridiculous. Given the plethora of hotels in the area, I can see no good reason to stay here other than to experience life in a bygone age.
