On arrival the reception area was dis-organised, overcrowded and devoid of staff to receive and locate guests despite advance booking. The restaurant was understaffed by admittedly friendly staff but naive, untrained and unprofessional.
The first course, barely acceptable, took ages to arrive. One member of our party who did not eat meat ordered 'mock' duck with pancakes to go with the other diners duck with pancakes. This course was brought to our table, the crispy duck shredded at our table and the waitress then ordered to take it to another table; not acceptable for the diners at the other table. In addition the 'mock' duck failed to arrive with our crispy duck and was completely inedible, devoid of any semblance of taste of any sort let alone pretend duck. All the dishes on the set menu for the meat-eaters had the same pervading stale-oil flavour, the so-called chicken element appearing preformed, reheated and completely unidentifiable. The prawn dish contained stale pineapple chunks tasting musty, soft and rubbery. All the ingredients seemed to be of very poor quality. The service was so slow that we were there for more than two hours. All-in-all not a place we would ever re-visit or recommend to anyone.
