my husband and i just returned home to missouri after staying at the brassdoor inn in bull shoals arkansas, i had read the bad reviews on here, and i have to say they are so wrong, this was the most fun place to stay and the owner is the nicest lady i met down there, the rooms were large and clean, the pool was great and the outside grills were perfect for saving money from not eating out. we will definatly return next year with our families. so to the owner of this inn be prepared to hold 5 to 6 rooms, love love love, your new friends carol and mike

If you are thinking of staying here...reconsider! First off we had not planned on staying in Bull Shoals but after traveling there via the extremely curvy road in the daylight decided not to try them at night. The room looked like no one had entered it in who knows how long dead moths all over in the bathroom and in the windows. The shower was to yucky to use either dirt or mold was on the door. The night stands were dirty the bathroom window had no lock it was a slide window so I lodge a shoe in it. The room was very musty smelling. We slept in our clothes on top of the blankets and left our shoes on. I would not have stayed but I had paid cash as it didn't look bad from the outside and they have a no return policy for early checkouts. If you are going to Bull Shoals which is a nice little town, plan ahead for lodging and if the only vacancy you find is at the brass door, save your self $55 and sleep in your car!

I picked this place because the reviews had a pool, great service, and "you could walk to the lake".

First off, I must say the people that run this place are amazing, super nice, and friendly. But I didn't go on vacation to meet them. The hotel is straight out of the 1950s and the kitchen I paid extra for was a mistake. There was a tiny old fridge and a tiny little stove. I paid extra for a king studio suite that was not large. The TV had like a 15 second audio delay so I felt like we were watching spaghetti westerns.

The pool is tiny and old, the concrete around it will burn your feet. Yes, you can walk to the lake, but you have to go trhough a forest. Some other family members stayed in town and rented a house for the same price as our hotel and I wish I would have done that.

The king bed was like a rock so I slept on the couch. This place is super old, needs updating, and I expected much nicer accommodations for the rate I paid.

Room Tip: Do not pick the king studio suite - the kitchen is from the 50's!

Hi Janexo,

Room that you stayed in was a "500 sq ft room" which we dont beleive is considered a small room.

You paid $85 for the room & we will be happy to know who rents a house for $85 a night and has all the facilities that we have.

Our kitchenette pics are uploaded on the website. Nothing is hidden.

Our kitchenette's have 3 heating elements, 5.1 cubic fridge, oven, microwave , coffee maker, toaster & all basic pots & pans. We are sorry if you were expecting more than this for the price you paid.

If you had any issue with the TV, we would have appreciated if you would have informed us at the front desk & we would have gladly fixed it or changed it for you.

Our pool is a 33,000 gallon pool & it is one of the biggest pool in the entire Bull Shoals area.

We have an outdoor pool & we do not have any control on heat or mother nature especially when the heat index for the whole mid west region is almost a 110 degree fahrenheit. Also we do not know of any other material that can be used other than the concrete to hold a 33,000 gallon in ground pool.

If you want to go to the lake, you have to go through the road, which is less than a 10 min walk or less than 2 min drive from the hotel. We never said it is a 2 min walk to the lake via road... neither did we say walk through the forest...

All our rooms have newer beds & in this particular room, you stayed in, has Sealy King Size bed which is one of the best brand.

We are sorry for not meeting your "Hilton expectations" for the price you paid...

Stayed with our family of six. The Marina was right behind the hotel! The property is is little older, like all of bull shoals but the rooms are redone and are clean and comfortable. Our family was comfortable and it was a great place to stay!

First off, this is not a five star hotel; it's a nice lodge type, outdoor entry motel. But, if you are on vacation, you are probably rarely there anyway. We got a room during the week right after fourth fo July... I guess a "suite" as it was two connecting rooms with a kitchenette in between. Nothing fancy--wall a/c, paneling walls, dorm size in-room fridge and microwave, but everything you need. We had two young kids and four adults and the accommodations were just what we needed... for the two sides and kitchenette, it was $130 a night. You can't beat that for four beds and a kitchen! It was clean, three balconies (each bedroom and the kitchen), nice pool, and we were very pleased. Right across the road from Connie's great breakfast... a mile from a grocery store one way and a Dollar General the other... and just up from the Bull Shoals Boat Dock (.3 mi away!).

Cabins are clean, maintenace is very good, lake access is only a very short walk (100 yards) in a nice private cove. Everything you need is provided. If you are treveling with more than 4 people I recommend their two alregr Cabins! Last, your pets are welcome!

Nice Place To Stay ; We were little bit worried when we saw the previous review on this hotel as this was our first trip to Bull Shoals, but dint wish to cancel the reservation as i had a good review from my family who stayed at this hotel before & Guess what i was AMAZED by their service & cleanliness. I agree that the hotel is not that new but it is CLEAN, beds are comfortable & shower has hot water, which all of us always look for. I have never had such hot shower in my life. In fact i asked people at the front desk, what is their secret for the HOT water. We had fun to jump in the pool . My wife & my kids had a blast. We extended our stay for a couple of more nights. I would definitely recommend others to stay at Brass Door Inn.
P.S. They provide a daily room service but if you prefer privacy & do not want anyone to enter your room with your luggage in it, you have an option to change your used towels with the new one at the office anytime.
