“Do You Like Mold in the Shower?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

First of all, I know it is a Motel 6, so I wasn't expecting luxurious accommodations. However, I did expect it to be clean. The check-in process was great! The desk clerk was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. The room (#117) smelled musty. The exterior of the heat unit was broken. This didn't affect the working condition of the unit, but it added to the "run-down" appearance of the motel. There was a dirt spot on one of the pillow cases, and my wife found a few hairs on the sheets. Were the bed linens cleaned after the last time someone stayed in this room? There was mold/mildew in the shower, and the bathroom exhaust fan was broken.

This was not originally a Motel 6; rooms are larger and decor is different. However, it has the feel of an abandoned motel that someone took over without bothering to renovate. The room was clean but had a strong musty smell. Furniture and fixtures were in need of paint and/or upgrades. It was extremely quiet and the only other people there seemed to be truckers. Even the RV park in the back was eeriiy quiet. Although the place felt empty, the (attached) Mexican restaurant was busy. Since I did not eat there, I really can't report on it.

spider webs in the corner of the bathroom and a spider came out where you open up the air conditioner to change temp. Should have looked at room first but it was memorial weekend and had no advance reservations and other hotel we checked was booked. We had parents along that were in their 80's. The carpet was dirty, the chairs at the little table by the bed were filthy and it looked like someone had vomited on the seat of one. We put towels over the arms and seat parts, The other chair when we went to move it the back almost came off. We made sure no one sat in it. We did have clean sheets and a working TV. No coffee pot in room, no ref., no microwave and no free breakfast. I will never go there again or recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Dont go to this motel, awful.

Truthfully, I don't think the staff does anything between guests besides change the sheets (I hope) and pick up trash. My husband had to clean the pubic hair and urine spots off the toilet and in the shower you could wipe what appeared to be many weeks of scum from the shower wall. The carpet wasn't swept.and needed scrubbed desperately. Awful, awful, awful. It may be conveniently located off the interstate, but it's not worth it. KEEP GOING!

This motel was clean, and the rooms were a decent price. They did charge $10 extra for each person in the room which seemed odd to me. They were accomodating when I requested a room with a king size bed instead of two singles. Was disappointed that there wasn't a hairdryer in the room.

This motel is conveniently located at the I-40 exit. Check in was inefficient and slow because the 4-5 employees behind the desk were busily chatting with each other, but they were all friendly, and one clerk said she was just about to phone my room to see if everything was ok when I returned to the desk to get change. Check-out went more smoothly.

The room appeared to be clean except for some soap scum left on the sink counter. There was a small fridge (nice surprise)--but no hairdryer or coffee maker--and the area was quiet even though near the interstate.

A reasonably good Mexican restaurant is located beside the motel.

Worst motel ever. The rooms stunk like dirty carpet. Stopped while traveling to Tennessee, will never stop there again. In the past we've stayed at motel 6 and they've always been clean. Very disappointed. The location was great because it was just off the interstate.
