I have just returned from are stay at the DeGray Lake Resort State Park in Arkansas and we Loved it. My GirlFriend and I arrived on Sunday 9/7/08 after a 15 hour drive from Jacksonville, Fl. We arrived about 30 minutes before the park was to close for the night. Unless you had Reservations like we did. We were given the room that we asked for facing the Lake and on the 3rd floor. The room was big for two people sure the tub could have been a little bigger but we made do. The whole Hotel is Smoke Free just like it should be in 2008. We went right to Sleep in are King Size Bed.
The Next Day 9/8/08 we stayed at the Hotel and relaxed we ate Lunch and Dinner the food was a lot like what one would get at a Dennys. And we didn't have to travel far to get it being it was in the Hotel. We noticed the grounds had some damage to it for the week before Hurricane Gustav was in the Arkansas Area. But we were very lucky and are weather was Verry Good with some clouds but no weird weather Thank God!
There was one Problem we had we went out for a day trip to Little rock and being we left early I stopped at the front counter to tell them that are room could be cleaned right away. Well when we returned later that afternoon the Front counter didn't tell house keeping and are room stayed dirty that night. We did get a new towel set sent up by house keeping they did say they could do the room at that point but we were beat. And said the next day would be fine. We picked this Hotel for the Local to everything we wanted to see while in Arkansas and the Price for the room was only $84.00 a day. And we stayed till checkout 9/12/08. Fast food joints were about six miles away from the Resort in which we ate at one night when we just didn't need a full meal.
Overall we relaxed at this resort we didn't go fishing or boating etc etc I used the Pool and Hot Tub while my GirlFriend read, walked and jogged the area of the Park. If we had to give a grade to this State Park it would be an (A) good job everyone at Degrays we will return.
