“Decent one or two night stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2011

Decent hotel for business, no frills at all. Comfortable bed, desk, coffee maker, small couch, no small fridge, small exercise room, no pool or whirlpool. Decent cleanliness.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2011

I stayed here for business in late January 2011 and thought the hotel quality to be about 3.5 stars. I didn't find any major negatives except maybe a lack of a pool which other hotels in the area offered. I definitely wouldn't pay the published rate of almost $200/night but for around $100/night which is what I got my room for on priceline it was worth it.

PROS:
Quiet
Clean
Minutes away from Walmart offices
Adequate breakfast offerings

Cons:
Rack rate for Rooms
No pool
Bed comfort just OK

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean and looked up to date with comfortable beds and bedding. I would stay there again if it wasn't so expensive. I just went in and got a room in a hurry so I probably could've gotten a much better rate online.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2008

Stayed here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night in November. Wanted to do something special for her and book a jacuzzi suite, especially after we ended up not being able to get a jacuzzi suite one time at another hotel this summer because it went mechanical.

Low and behold our bad jacuzzi-suite luck emerged again. This hotel has 4 jacuzzi suites and the one we were supposed to be in the person staying there the night before didn't end up leaving. The original room we were assigned to since their jacuzzi suites were all sold out had a small bathroom jacuzzi that wasn't even big enough for two people.

Chad at their front desk worked with us to find us an accommodating room, a two room suite with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. It wasn't an in-room jacuzzi like we had wanted, but the spaciousness of the room and the quietness of the hotel (the hotel is usually only 1/4 full or less on weekends) made for a relaxing enjoyable evening. He even adjusted the rate for us for our trouble.

The breakfast is top notch, probably one of the two or three best continental breakfasts i've had - the cinnamon rolls at Holiday Inn Express are hard to beat.

Cons? The beds are hard as rocks. Don't know if its just in the suites or in all rooms... Also, they should consider upgrading the TV's to larger sets or flat panels as similar hotels are doing. Other than that, if you're in the area looking for a place to stay on a weekend, this is one of many good places in this area that will take good care of you.

Stayed at Holiday Inn Express prior to it becoming a Hotel & Suites, the updates and changes have a refreshing surprise. The new soft goods, decor and carpets have added to the overall appeal of the hotel. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Requested non smoking king and when we entered room it was obvious someone had been smoking in the suite. Called the front desk and a quick apology/new room assignment fixed this problem in a flash. Breakfast was comparable to other hotels in same chain. Coffee hot, cinnamon rolls very good and fruit was fresh. Business area was easily accessible.
Quite and comfortable nights rest. Only disappointment -no microwave or frig in King rooms. I would recommend this hotel for a business or leisure stay. Restaurants within walking distance a plus!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2006

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express the last week of October during a Wal-Mart Conference being held at Embassy Suites. I stayed here because Embassy Suites had no rooms. Had a king jacuzzi suite. Room was well appointed. Desk service was helpful as I had had toothpaste and deoderant confiscated by TASA. Breakfast bar was simple but sufficient for my needs (fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, muffins and boiled eggs). I thought the hotel was clean and secure. Used fitness room (two treadmills, a recumbant bike and manual stairmaster). Also had a nice full size jacuzzi. My room jacuzzi was nice (first time I had ever had one in room). I felt that the accomodations were fine for my purpose (business travel). It was close to both the airport, many decent restaurants, and the John Q. Hammons Convention Center. I would stay there again.

This Holiday Inn is starting to show its age a little. Some of the wallpaper was peeling in the hallways and the carpets had some stains. The front doors pull open from the outside, which is not good if you have luggage in your hand. The side entrances are so-so. You use your keycard to get in, but the locks don't always work. In fact, the back door didn't lock at all. The front desk staff was reasonably helpful and even had a list of restaurants available at the desk, but the housekeepers all appeared to be Hispanic and didn't understand when I asked for no service, but just a couple extra towels.

The breakfast was OK, and the cinnamon rolls were very good. I would have preferred a little more variety myself, but it wasn't bad. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but I don't know if it's worth $105 a night.
