I stayed at this hotel from 10/10 – 10/15 and used Hilton Honor Points to book 2 rooms (160,000 points total). Hotel is 10 -15 miles from North-west Arkansas airport. We rented a car and found the hotel easily. You arrive from a busy thoroughfare that you don’t want to be making a lot of left hand turns when you leave on your day trips. Lots of restaurants located close by – Denny’s across street, Shogun next door and Village (can’t recall the rest) next door. Parking is free and street level, lighting is relatively dim, area seemed safe. We arrived 2 hours before the 3pm check-in time. Natayia at the front desk told us one room was available and we could wait for the second room. This act of kindness caused the only problem we had – more on that later. Lobby is bright and clean to the left is the food bar area and to the right is a comfortable sitting area. Around the corner is a full service bar unusual for Garden Inn, in that it is separate from the dining area. Pool area looked clean we did not use. The workout room is pretty small but serviceable there were two new treadmills, another cardio machine, and a multi-use cable style machine. Wish they could add some free weight dumbbells and maybe a sit up bench.
We had rooms 332 and 334 which were very quiet look out over a back parking area and a vacant lot. The rooms both were suites living room set up with nice flat screen TV. The middle area had the Kuerig Coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. No lights over the coffee maker area. Both rooms were clean. The odd thing about the bedroom is that on the king beds there are controls on either side of the bed that you can adjust the firmness of each side of the bed. No one ever really mentioned it and I learned it from Trip Advisor. The controls work! You have to lift up the sheets at the head of the bed and sort of stand on your head to get to them. The room has a work station and there are adequate plug ins for your electronics. No safe in the room. Bathroom was a good size with decent lightingje. The water pressure was great! The air conditioner is located in the bed room area but, did not cause any problems.
I had read some complaints about the breakfast. It is an $8.95 charge. I tell you I went to I-HOP down the road and spent more than that and the food was not as good. So you seat yourself and the waitress comes and takes your order for eggs, potatoes, biscuit and gravy, bacon, etc. The waitress basically gets you anything you want. I had read complaints about slow service the four days we ate there was never any problem. Tobi, April, Bea were efficient in getting the food out to you. Tobi was a lot of fun to joke around with. Nancy the Sales manager was on the floor most mornings clearing tables and was quick to thank you for staying with them. The quality of the food was excellent crisp bacon and just right eggs. I even went around back and gave the cook a few dollars as a tip.
The lounge area is nice with a full service bar, 2 large TV’s, and some very nice people Taylor and Eric waited on us and both were just very easy going and wow could they deliver. Prices are high what you expect at a hotel lounge $6 beers, $8-10 mixed drinks. They also had a pretty thorough wine list.
The only problem I encountered was getting locked out of both our rooms the first night. We checked in early and apparently someone forgot to note that we checked in and we were eventually deemed no shows even though they knew there was luggage in both rooms. I guess this lead them to deactivating our keys which was frustrating but no big deal. They could have easily let the rooms go because of a Razorback game filled up the hotel. I went downstairs and Joe and Elizabeth explained what happened. All good – maybe. They had to cancel my Hilton Honor reservation and re-book it. Long story short there were a lot of back and forth with my Hilton honor points. Good part – we got to keep our rooms. Bad part I have no idea what they did with my points. The morning I checked out I asked for a “play by play” of what exactly they did – Dawn the General Manager called me today and assured me they had straightened everything out.
Hands down I would stay here again.
322 was on the back side away from the highway - make sure you look for the bed adjustment
