“Arkansas Weekend”

We spent two days at the Ramada Inn in Batesville, Arkansas. We were traveling with my step-dad and his beloved dog. I was traveling with my 11 year old son. We needed a pool for the child and dog friendly for my step-dad. I like clean and newer motels.
We got all three at this place. I should clarify, it is the only motel in Batesville that allows pets.

We were close to several places to eat. The rooms for animal owners are at rear of building next to large grassy area for dogs and kids to run around.
They had a nice pool and courtyard for lounging by.

Beds and linens were nice. The bathroom was a little small, but the rest of the room was spacious for the four of us.

Frig in room at no extra charge. They provided free newspapers daily. My favorite perk.

I visit family in the area every two years and due to recent deaths my usual family place to stay was not available. This was great alternative. My family was able to come and sit by the pool with us while the child played.

I will return in two years. I enclose photos of the place. You can never be sure until you see photos of the place. I never trust the ones taken by the motels.

Have a great stay.

“Very nice clean rooms with good mattresses”

Ramada Inn Batesville

Jul 21, 2007

I was sent to the Ramada Inn for a work convention. I was pleasantly suprised. The motel is very clean and up to date. The room had no musty smell or smell of any kind which is nice. It also had all the amenities. I was allowed to change to a king room from a double with no problem. The mattress was great! The pool area is beautiful with many trees. It also has a nice hot tub. Although the pool was cleaned each morning, the pool still seemed a little dirty, but I do have to admit there was kids in there all day. All the staff was very accomodating. People in town recommended the restaurant as being a good choice for eating; however, we were not pleased. We found the staff to not know what they were doing and to be generally rude. One of our dishes was also cracked. I would recommend the motel, but I suggest eating elsewhere.

“Nice hotel, rude restaurant staff”

After reading the reviews posted on TripAdvisor(--), we were actually very pleasantly surprised with the property. The lobby and main areas appear to have been recently remodeled. Our room was clean -- and the beds were extremely comfortable. There are plenty of cable channels, and the water pressure is really good.

However, the restaurant was upsetting. On the night of our arrival, they closed an hour early. We went down for dinner and were rudely rebuffed by the sole clerk at the checkout counter. We went back in the morning (free hot breakfast is included with the hotel stay) and were yelled at by one of the waitresses when we tried to ask about the availability of coffee.

This hotel does have a decent pool and spa, and the desk staff is pleasant and kind, but we won't dine at the restaurant again.

My husband and I stayed at the Ramada one night. We drove up and the curb appeal and lobby wear pretty nice. We checked in and headed for our room. When we opened the door, we noticed that the room smelled bad. It was a mildew, dirty carpet kind of oder. It was late and we were already checked in so we decided to just deal with it.

We got in the room and my husband decided he wanted to use the wireless internet, so I called the lobby. They explained that you have to check out some device. I left and headed for the lobby to get it, as I was walking several people had their doors open. As it turns out their rooms smelled just as bad. Anyway, I checked out the wireless thing from the lobby. Several of the staff while I was standing there were smoking behind the counter. By the time I got back to the room I smelled like I had been out to a bar. Also, our room was supposed to be non smoking, but someone had been smoking in the room because it smelled like smoke also.

We got settled in to go to sleep. I pulled the covers back to find long dark hairs on the sheets. Hoping that it was from making the bed, we wraped up in our own blankets and went to sleep.

The next morning when we got up and started getting ready there was more yuckiness. I shut the door to go to the bathroom and there was a pile of hair behind the door from not sweeping behind it. Moving on to the shower, the ceiling tiles were falling down above the shower. The drain would not drain, and I wore my flip flops in the shower and the whole time I was in the bathroom.

There were several dead bugs lying around.

All in all the hotel could use a very good cleaning and some repairs. It was very overpriced as well. We paid $80.00 something dollars for the room. A Holliday Inn, and Comfort Suites were right next door. The Comfort Suites was built in 2005, and I am pretty sure they had a cheaper rate after looking at this website.

“Needs work on employee attitude and cleaning”

The lady at the front desk was very rude when I arrived. I had spoken to this particular lady just the morning before about having coffee and drinks for the meeting room and she said they would have it ready. When I arrived she denied having said this and told me that the person who made the arrangements had not discussed this. I told her that I was the one who made the arrangements and I had indeed discussed this. She said that I was lying, which was not true. When I got to the room, it was not as clean as it should have been (looked like the vacuum was only used in the middle of the room, not clean at the edges and corners) and had a slight unpleasant odor (non-smoking room). Not somewhere I would stay if I had any other choice.
