“Not a bad hotel, all in all”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The Comfort Inn in Yuma has seen better days, for sure.
It is a little worn around the edges, this much is true.
But I must confess, my room has been clean and nicely serviced, and the amenities are really good, considering the reasonable price of the place.
In-room fridge and microwave, lots of floor space, and a clean, pleasant feel to it.
The breakfast is served hot at 5:00 am, which is perfect for those of us doing early morning work on the Proving Grounds.
After the day is done, they serve up free BarBQ some evenings, and free hamburgers and bratwursts with all the fixings. Nice.
Guest laundry, a nice swimming pool and hot tub, and a workout room round out the goodness.

Room Tip: Pool view is best.

I work in hospitality and hospitality is exactly what this hotel lacks. You walk in and immediately smell chemicals used to cover up the musty, cigarette smoke. You can not tell who are staff and who are guests, first because they all sit on their phones, texting, and also because they don't wear uniforms. The front desk staff were wearing jeans, tight shorts, sweatshirts, and plaid shorts. Everyone looked so unprofessional it took away from the experience for me. My family and I sat in the lobby and watched the front desk ignore the guests that walked by. Not once did the staff stop their side conversations to say hello or good morning to the guests walking by. To me, that is disgraceful. You are in the hospitality business and you should be ashamed on how you're representing customer service. Not to mention the lobby and the rooms are something from the 80s and extremely dirty. They need a renovation and quickly. I will not be staying at this comfort inn ever again when I go to visit family.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, period.

Very nice stay. Front desk personnel friendly and very helpful during our stay. Room cleaning satisfactory. This hotel served a small BBQ supper on Mon, Tue, and Wed evening. No complaints on the food. Cookies and milk at 8pm. Nice touch! Easy in and out of the parking lot. Maid did throw out my wifes personal face cloth thinking it was a rag. Will stay there again.

The bed was comfy and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast was all right (same as other hotels like the HIE and Wingate). But the hotel itself and the room I had was outdated and kind of drab. It was clean though - even the carpet seemed pretty new. But the furniture, decor, TV, and the bathroom could use updating. It just isn't a hotel room where you are comfortable sitting there and working or just watching TV. If you are a busness traveler and you want a nice room, stay in another hotel. f you are on a budget, this is probably just fine because it was a goo night's rest.

We used this as a stay over to our trip to San Diego. The room was clean and cool, I specifically booked on the east side so to avoid the afternoon sun. The hotel was clean throughout, we did not use the pool but it looked quite inviting.
The breakfast a typical carb filled, although it did have a omelet (pre-made) and slices of ham, yogurt and some fresh fruit.
I booked on-line and took advantage of a stay 2 times get a $50 gas card. It made for a more leisurely trip.
Staff was friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the East side in Summer, to avoid the heat.

We stayed in July when it was 106 degrees outside. The room was air conditioned and ready for our use. This was an overnight stay as we were traveling through. The bed was comfortable, the room spotless. The only negative was the TV reception was not as sharp as it could have been.

Located near the freeway, the only mall in town, and many great restaurants to choose from. Hotel staff was friendly during checking in and upgraded my room with no extra charge. Room was clean, roomy, and the beds where surprisingly soft pillow top mattress. Wasn't expecting as soft a mattress. The room has a small fridge and microwave in it which is always nice to have. The breakfast was basic consisting of waffles, donuts, muffins, sausage, cold cereal, hot cereal, variety of juices, yogurt, fruit etc. swimming pool & hot tub outside. Basic clean safe hotel well worth the price I paid. Nothing fancy but a clean and a soft comfortable bed to sleep on.
