“Comfortable, upscale, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2011

This Best Western has a complete facelift and the details are appreciated. New, comfortable mattresses, tasteful decor, flat-panel TV, swing-arm mirror (finally, I can see the back of my hair when styling it!), microwave and small fridge. The hairdryer is good and hot. Bottled water every day. The breakfast offers great variety: cereal, yogurt, juice, fresh fruit, several kinds of bread and muffins, and hot items including sausage, hashed browns, eggs, and make-your-own waffle. And very good coffee. They offered happy hour drinks and appetizers but we were not there to try it.

The problems we had were a result of weather (internet interruptions), and the recent boiler upgrade, which clogged the hot water lines. We reported this 3 times, and finally asked a maintenance man who was working on the room next door for help. He was friendly and capable, and fixed the problem immediately. The maid would leave a differing number of towels each day, several times just one handtowel and washcloth.

Be sure to join the Gold Crown membership, which gives you little perks and the points do add up. Overall, I believe Best Western is trying very hard to provide a good experience at a reasonable price.

I love that bed. I took the little laminated card that tells about the Sleep Perfect Cloud Supreme whatever it's called bed. I so want to order one of those for home! That was amazingly comfortable. We loved everything else about the hotel, too. The complimentary happy hour drinks and hors d'oeuvres (delish rolled tacos) and then full, hot breakfast (waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, eggs and biscuits then also cereals and fruits), beautiful pool area, everything we'd want in the room suite...I have no idea how they can provide that much for such a reasonable price (we paid about $85/night). One little bummer was that the coffee pot, phone and clock didn't work. We notified them after the 1st night and it wasn't fixed for our 2nd night. Oh, well, enjoyed being there!

We registered at about 1 pm. room wasn't ready; but said to come back around 3. We returned shortly after 3, room still not ready. Decided to come back later. We returned about 9:30 and checked in. Not happy with room. It is dirty, dust on tv, tv cabinet, light fixtures. Bed sheets looked washed, but not clean. Walkway outside of room was covered in leaves and bird dung. Front entrance was clean and nice. Breakfast was good- hot eggs, sausages, etc. Fruit and cold cereals. Small breakfast room. Room reservation included happy hour with a couple of drinks. We didn't attend. We originally planned to stay 3 nights; but checked out after 1 night because of condition of the room. When we checked out, the manager was very apologetic and gave us the room for free. Beds were comfortable

We went to Yuma for an overnight trip and had a good stay at the Best Western Inn Suites. Rooms looked like they had been improved recently. Towels were thick, sheets were new, and the bed was great. Best night's sleep in ages.

Did happy hour and enjoyed it. Had choice of beer, wine, sodas also had popcorn, pretzels, chips and salsa. Don't forget to tip the bartended, she was working hard.

Breakfast the next moring was fine. Coffee good, choice of juices, cereral, hot food, waffles, yogurt and fresh fruit. If you left hungry you weren't trying hard enough.

We will come again.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2010

A visit October 3, 2010 was horrible. A non smoking room smelled of fresh cigarettes, so there was difficulty sleeping. The receptionist put me off to move till the next day. Then I found a large water bug in the room. I was on the ground floor which didn't help. I was then moved and upgraded to another room. The upgraded room was larger but didn't include a flat screen tv. The worst part was during the inspection of the room, found stained and dirt filled sheets. Specks of dirt on the entire fitted sheet of the bed. Maintenance brought new sheets but I slept on the sofa and left the hotel early the next morning. The rate is so cheap but not worth the headache.

If you are staying at Best Western in Yuma, make sure you get to the InnSuites Yuma Mall Hotel & Suites , not the Coronado Motor Hotel. The latter is closer to the original town center, and is not nearly as nice. Due to road work, signage is not helpful and we drove to the wrong one and had to backtrack ... should have used the Nav system.
There is a good business center with a fast printer and three PC's. Unfortunately, mine gave me a "60 second" boot warning, and then IPL'd 10 seconds later.
Ours was a good room with HDTV and an excellent king-size bed. The room air conditioning is thermostatically controlled. Unfortunately we couldn't find a way to adjust the fan speed, so it was either off, or on High, which was annoyingly noisey. The shower was good for tall people.
The smallish pool is nicely sheltered. PJ's Cafe next to the pool is air conditioned and has a happy hour from 5 - 6:30 sharp, during which you can get two free wine or beer. This is also where you can get your complimentary breakfast, which was good except for the too-salty corn beef hash. So go for the excellent baking powder biscuits, baked on site. You can eat indoors or al fresco by the pool. There is a complimentary Manager's BBQ on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30.

This hotel is in bad need of a make-over!!! Everything was old, dirty, and falling apart.
The best thing about this hotel was it's location.
