I travel extensively and always check TripAdvisor reviews to help make my decision of where to stay. Until now it has not failed me. I recently stayed 4 nights at La Fuente while having dental work done in Al Godones, oddly being the best thing about my visit. Let me just start that the hotel surface appearance is a 3 star with nice lobby, breakfast room and pool with lush courtyard. However, under the surface the hotel is the true 1 star rating they have received NOT a three for the following reasons:
*Rude check-in clerk

*All plastic and styrofoam serve ware even in room. I never saw a glass or real utinsil on site (Travel Lodge ???)

*Construction noise started at 6;30 am. I asked the front desk clerk if there was a city ordinanace for construction noise around a hotel she said NO the hotel agreed to it. I said it would have been nice to advise guests prior or at check-in. She could have cared less.

*I requested and received room on upper floor in quiet area with my initial reservation. However, I was placed smack in the middle of a large group of young men partying from free happy hour, banging on doors and yelling from the outside. After a long hot day of dental treatments, No rest for me. I asked to be moved and was offered a room that was a dark hole. I told the clerk I would make arrangements to move the next day to another hotel. She then offered me a lower floor suite. Low and behold elephants were staying above me. I made many phone calls to move, but unlike La Fuente, the Marriotts and Hampton were sold out. I was stuck!

*Front desk staff was rude after I moved rooms and never offered an apology for the intrusive noise.

*The second room had NO cold water. So much for a cool shower to refresh from the heat. Their excuse 2 days in a row of my complaining was the 110 degree heat outside, even after I said it worked fine in the 1st room and my friend staying at Super 8 had cool water. Once again NO apology or resolution, just excuses.

*Happy Hour was a joke unless you like Budweiser, chablis and bottom of the barrell liquors. The food was out by 6pm possibly due to the group of men staying there. The breakfast was fine but the lady that kept it stocked, etc never smiled or greeted anyone except staff.

*I arranged for airport shuttle and they pulled a construction worker to drive the van. He happened to be the most pleasant employee I came across and even spoke good English.

POOR MANAGEMENT and needless to say I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!

A great hotel with a complimentary happy hour each evening and the best pool we have seen, wonderfully sheltered from the outside world, and the whole experience was excellent.

Until recently, there were only a couple of hotels in Yuma, and LaFuente and Shiloh Inn were the selections when it came to an upgraded hotel. While there are many new hotels in the area, LaFuente continues to draw my business; the staff is personable, the property is well kept, and the breakfast and happy hour (included in the price of the room) can't be beat.

Summer in Yuma is brutal, however the poolside cabanas keep the sun at bay and the well-established central courtyard is nicely maintained. Recommend booking a first-floor suite with a living-room area, large bedroom, and easy access to your vehicle, pool, and main lobby area.

While it seems a reviewer had difficulty with the front staff, with each visit I've found them to be more than helpful. The other hotel guests are friendly and the gentleman that maintains the pool area takes pride in his work.

The only caution I would offer is to travelers that aren't enamored with multi-family groups with lots of children. Maybe it stems from my earlier years as a lifeguard; the multi-family multi-children soirees can take over the area. I wished I had a whistle to call "adult swim" to clear the pool for just five minutes of all floaty-devices and toys, if just not for a moment or two before the pool closed in the evening.

Take breakfast and coffee, sit poolside, before the Yuma heat sets it, and it's a peaceful way to start the day.

Easy access on/off I-8 and close to the mall, La Fuente is not another chain hotel, rather a classic hidden gem in Yuma.

I will return to LaFuente and recommend it to others.

We read all the hotel reviews and decided to stay here. When we first looked at the prices it was $89.00. When I called them a few days later they told me it was $129.00 for the same room. I asked if online was cheaper and they said no. I told them the price and they said the price had gone up and the lowest they could give was 119.00. We booked it for 4 nights. When we arrived we were greeted by 2 front desk clerks. One of the ladies, from Ga. was courteous and pleasant and the other rarely looked at us, never smiled and answered any question curtly.

The rooms are older and need an upgrade. The room was clean. The courtyard plants are nice and tropical with a big pool but the pool is not kept as clean as it should be even tho they clean it everyday.

During our stay our toilet stopped working and when I called the front desk I was curtly told they would call me back if they could find a plunger. A few minutes later the surly desk clerk came up and when I opened the door she thrust the plunger at me without a word. I expect a little more professionalism for 119.00 a night.

Even tho the rates went down, they would not lower our rate. After we checked out we realized we had left something so we called the hotel and they said they would look for it and if they found it they would send it to us. When I called back they said they had found it and they would bill our credit card to mail it. I said I did not want them to bill my credit card or keep it on file and I would call them back with arrangements. They mailed it and billed my credit card without approval and charged twice the amount to send it even tho it had been mailed directly from the hotel.

There are some very nice staff but overall our experience was one of an attitude that was unpleasant and since they were independant they did not feel compelled to go out of their way or even be pleasant. We will not stay again.

The hotel captured Southwestern charm with its many citrus and palm trees surrounding the sparkling pool and spa. Breakfast is served each morning in the hotel's meeting room with a buffet of hot and cold items. A "happy hour" is a fun time in the late afternoon and is complimentary to guests of the hotel.

The hotel room that we had was very well appointed with wonderful huge fluffy white towels that wrapped around you like a blanket. I loved them!

We had asked for a "non-smoking" room but when none was available the hotel staff upgraded us to a suite. The staff at the hotel is most helpful (giving us directions twice) and friendly.

I would enjoy going back to LaFuente Hotel and Suites again.
