We stayed at the Motel 10 on Route 66 on the advice of relatives while we were in town for a funeral, and we're glad we did. We paid ~$38.00 total for two people/ two beds on a friday night.
It's an older budget property (I think it's an old motel 6 from back when there was no interstate) but well-kept and very clean. The lady at the front desk said it had been recently renovated, and while the outside is drab the rooms are very nice. The room had new carpeting, new beds & linens, a microwave and fridge, and towels that can actually be used to dry yourself off (not the postage stamps you find at most budget motels!) No shortage of hot water, either. And best of all CLEAN! The lady at the desk was very helpful in providing directions and even a local map, and took the time to mark the routes for us in highlighter. Definitely a small town experience! We had dinner at the Turqouise Room at the La Posada hotel, which was absolutely fabulous and well worth the $20 entree prices.
I don't normally write reviews, but it was such a pleasant surprise to find a little motel that provided such good service at such a reasonable price I felt motivated to post. They even accomodated us with a late checkout due to the timing of the graveside services, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated at this difficult time. We will certainly stay here again the next time we come to visit (probably over Easter.)
