You never know what features are important to others so I will share my pros and cons on this visit so you can take it for what it is worth for you.
BENEFITS-average price for a hotel in that vacinity, hotel grounds were very pretty surrounded by lots of pine trees, and had many amenities such as tennis, basketball, swimming/jacuzzi area, as well as sitting areas outside. They have a restaurant on site and have horseback riding stables behind the hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the decor was a mix between contemporary and modern decor but it worked and made the room feel homey. The rooms on the bottom offer two doors....one that opens into the front courtyard where all of the activity areas and courtyards are, and the rear doors allow you to pull right up to your "back" door so to speak to unload which was convienient. The hot tea in the tea/coffee basket was delightful.
FRUSTRATIONS-My BIGGEST pet peeve was the bathroom window. Each room as a small window (2x2) that opens with a screen. The side that has the screen has a muted glass that you are not able to see through. The other half of the window is clear glass. Why this matters is I am 5'4 and I can see people's heads at least my height walking by my room. For taller people they can obviously see much more of me then I would like for someone to see when walking past a bathroom. Since we showered at night.....the females in my party felt uncomfortable showering with the light on!!! Not sure who thought this up and it is non applicable when you are on the second floor, but come on....curtains, both sides muted glass or something!! When you drive around the back of your hotel you are overwhelmed by a smell of horse manure! I know they have horses back there but still. The stables are less than 100 ft from our hotel room door so it was pungent. The heated pool was not heated and there were no pool towels available outside. The tv was very blurry so we didn't wind up watching it. The a/c window unit was not in the bedroom area of the room at all but was in the bathroom area. We felt it was harder to spread a/c in the sleeping area where it was warmer, and not in the bathing area where we were freezing.
Finally, customer service was not very attentive on check in, and later wound up waking my family up at 6:50 am to ask a question which was not cool. The morning of check out, my family as well as 3 other families were waiting upstairs to be seated in the dining room area to get breakfast. All of us stood there for over 15 minutes "waiting to be seated" and no one ever came over to help/seat any of us, no one even acknowledged we were there. We saw the supposed hostess walk past us numerous times clearing off tables and doing everything else but getting people seated in all the empty tables. Free breakfast or not, we didn't have time to wait.
Good hotel in general, but I would return if they fix a few things that would make a room stay more comfortable.
