This property is frequently available on priceline and other consolidators for around $60. At that price, it might be about the best you can do in Williams. But I certainly wouldn't pay much more. As other posters have noted, this is an older property -- think "classic" Holiday Inn with somewhat dated, plain rooms. They try to please, like with free popcorn and hot drinks in the lobby. It's a reasonable stop on your way to or from the Grand Canyon (although a bit far to go back and forth in one day).

Since I had my kids with me, I tried the restaurant for breakfast since "kids eat free" at Holiday Inns. Well, in Williams they're not exactly free. They deducted $5.95 per kid from the bill, but they charged me an 18% gratuity and more than 11% tax on that amount. Still an OK deal with kids, but otherwise I'd steer clear of the restaurant for breakfast. The adult buffet is $9.95, and the food is below average in quality.

As an overnight stop, Williams isn't the best because the town seems determined to make as much money as possible from those passing through. In addition to the nasty hotel and restaurant tax, local businesses seem to overcharge. Gas prices next to I-40 are insane, and even in town they are considerably more than elsewhere in northern Arizona. Not very warm hospitality.
