“Nice location, fun for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Yes this hotel is located a bit outside of Williams, but the location is nice, near woods and a horse ranch behind it. Lots of wide open spaces for kids to run around. Bathroom looked newly renovated. The only complaint I had was that when we checked in, the lady at the front desk told me a crib would be $20 a night! Nowhere on their web site does it say that, and I've never paid for a crib at a Choice Hotel. I told her if I'd known that I would have brought a pack and play. So she said she'd try to get it reduced to $10 a night. She also didn't know how to work the heater. We had a wall unit and a thermostat which seemed to work independently of each other but she wasn't able to tell us which to use. The next morning I was ready to put up a fight about the crib but when the guy at the desk looked he said there was no charge. So what was that first lady trying to pull on me? Then on the second night our heater overheated and started making a terrible burning smell around 11:30 at night, both the kids were asleep so we weren't about to have maintenance come and fix it. So we had to turn it off and froze until morning when we had the courage to turn it back on again. I did tell the front desk about it and whether they looked at it or not I don't know but at least it didn't happen again the next night. I also wish they had breakfast, the restaurant in the hotel was way too expensive. I might stay again, maybe in a warmer month when we don't need to use the heater!

“A bit out of the way but a nice stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

The hotel is a few miles out of Williams however their restaurant was ok for dinner and breakfast. The room rate was a little bit higher than what we wanted however the room was large and very clean and tidy.

Room Tip: Top floor is best for a quiet room

“If I Had It To Do Over Again, I'd Stay Somewhere Else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The professional pictures of this hotel, along with their reported services and amenities are very nice. Based upon that information we reserved a room for three days in mid September. Upon our arrival, we were disappointed.

First of all, the hotel is located ten miles from the historical town of Williams, and the historical town of Williams is just about all there is to Williams. The hotel is in a very rural area with NOTHING to do or see within about ten miles.

The hotel itself is pretty from the front. If one drives around the back, however, it looks very much like a Motel 6. The side walk is cracked, there are semi trucks parked in the woods and the horses and stable lend a smell reminescent farming.

Out front the pool and hot tub were empty and the latch to the gate was broken. The front sidewalk is also in need of repair. The fitness center, consisting of four peices of equipment, shared a space with the laundry in very drab surroundings. The dining room is nice and each guest receives a daily pass for a light breakfast consisting of two items and a beverage or a $4 discount on a regular meal. The food was fair.

The room was nice and spacious, if dimly lit. We especially liked the tile bathroom. On the down side of the bathroom, it had a low window that opened and only one of the two window panes was frosted which permitted an interesting view to the people of average size or taller from the outside in. This was true of some but not all of the rooms.

And for those of you who need a computer, I don't know about the availablity of WiFi in the rooms, but the one for guests to use in the lobby has been out of service for months. I asked three people and got three very different stories as to why.

We paid $90 a night for our room and if we had it to do over again, we would stay in Williams. There are plenty of hotels in Williams and I doubt that we would even have needed a reservation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second level or one with both of the bathroom windows frosted. And be prepare...

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay, but I would like to clarify some points you stated.

I'm not sure what you mean when you state "reported services", any services that we have listed on our website are those that are available for our guests. The photos were taken by the manager of the hotel and in no way falsify the uniqueness and beauty of the hotel and it's surroundings.

We do not try to hide the fact that we are situated on 30 acres, 6 miles outside of Williams, or that we have horses on the property for hourly horseback rides into the forest. There are several options for guest to do while staying with us, all within a very short drive; Bearizona is a short 5 mile drive, Williams Deer Farm is located directly across from us. You can take a quiet walk through the forest where you can see wildlife of all sorts. For those that are wanting a quiet tranquil place to stay, we are perfect. For those wanting the hustle and bustle of the city life, we do not offer that.

The semi trucks located on the property are used to haul the hotels water supply from a fresh water source.

As stated on our website, our pool is seasonal due to the temperature dropping below freezing during certain times of the year, October being one of those times.

WiFi is available in the rooms, free of charge.

“A nice western experience with nice grounds and decent rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The quality inn mountain ranch and resort is a nice economical resort in the high country of northern Arizona. What I liked - the rooms were large with windows looking out over nice grounds, the pool was great and refreshing, the staff was nice and helpful, and they even have horses on site and some funky stuff like a tepee and other western decor. Yes the rooms are not real modern but who comes to the Grand canyon area and northern Arizona to spend a lot of time in the room? Our room was clean and comfortable and really big. The location was quiet although not real convenient to Williams so if you want to eat away from the hotel it entails driving. But I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room. It is quieter and offers a better view.
