“A bit out of the way but a nice stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

The hotel is a few miles out of Williams however their restaurant was ok for dinner and breakfast. The room rate was a little bit higher than what we wanted however the room was large and very clean and tidy.

This was good value accomodation, pretty close to Grand Canyon, hotel food good too!! We drove from Las Vegas which took four hours, so we were ready to sleep & eat so ideal, close to main road but no noise.

The professional pictures of this hotel, along with their reported services and amenities are very nice. Based upon that information we reserved a room for three days in mid September. Upon our arrival, we were disappointed.

First of all, the hotel is located ten miles from the historical town of Williams, and the historical town of Williams is just about all there is to Williams. The hotel is in a very rural area with NOTHING to do or see within about ten miles.

The hotel itself is pretty from the front. If one drives around the back, however, it looks very much like a Motel 6. The side walk is cracked, there are semi trucks parked in the woods and the horses and stable lend a smell reminescent farming.

Out front the pool and hot tub were empty and the latch to the gate was broken. The front sidewalk is also in need of repair. The fitness center, consisting of four peices of equipment, shared a space with the laundry in very drab surroundings. The dining room is nice and each guest receives a daily pass for a light breakfast consisting of two items and a beverage or a $4 discount on a regular meal. The food was fair.

The room was nice and spacious, if dimly lit. We especially liked the tile bathroom. On the down side of the bathroom, it had a low window that opened and only one of the two window panes was frosted which permitted an interesting view to the people of average size or taller from the outside in. This was true of some but not all of the rooms.

And for those of you who need a computer, I don't know about the availablity of WiFi in the rooms, but the one for guests to use in the lobby has been out of service for months. I asked three people and got three very different stories as to why.

We paid $90 a night for our room and if we had it to do over again, we would stay in Williams. There are plenty of hotels in Williams and I doubt that we would even have needed a reservation.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay, but I would like to clarify some points you stated.

I'm not sure what you mean when you state "reported services", any services that we have listed on our website are those that are available for our guests. The photos were taken by the manager of the hotel and in no way falsify the uniqueness and beauty of the hotel and it's surroundings.

We do not try to hide the fact that we are situated on 30 acres, 6 miles outside of Williams, or that we have horses on the property for hourly horseback rides into the forest. There are several options for guest to do while staying with us, all within a very short drive; Bearizona is a short 5 mile drive, Williams Deer Farm is located directly across from us. You can take a quiet walk through the forest where you can see wildlife of all sorts. For those that are wanting a quiet tranquil place to stay, we are perfect. For those wanting the hustle and bustle of the city life, we do not offer that.

The semi trucks located on the property are used to haul the hotels water supply from a fresh water source.

As stated on our website, our pool is seasonal due to the temperature dropping below freezing during certain times of the year, October being one of those times.

WiFi is available in the rooms, free of charge.

The quality inn mountain ranch and resort is a nice economical resort in the high country of northern Arizona. What I liked - the rooms were large with windows looking out over nice grounds, the pool was great and refreshing, the staff was nice and helpful, and they even have horses on site and some funky stuff like a tepee and other western decor. Yes the rooms are not real modern but who comes to the Grand canyon area and northern Arizona to spend a lot of time in the room? Our room was clean and comfortable and really big. The location was quiet although not real convenient to Williams so if you want to eat away from the hotel it entails driving. But I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this hotel.

A great rural location but still not far from many destinations. Great well-lit grounds and we had a nice clean room. However be aware of the limitations if you get a room with the $30 meal credit. Not disclosed when booking the room on-line was that the credit is for dinner only on the night of your stay. Can't use for lunch, can't use for breakfast, can't use for dinner on the day of departure. We had other dinner plans on the night of our stay so we were offered a $20 credit on our bill which we considered fair. The breakfast vouchers that came with our room turned out to be worthless. You have to eat at their sit-down restaurant to use them and not only did it take a long time for us to be seated, once they did so we waited 20 minutes for a server that never came so we walked out. While waiting we overhead the waitress being rude to another table and also saw another couple walk out as they waited in vain for a server. The nice lady that sat us down brought us overpriced coffee and juice so we had to leave cash on the table for that. I mentioned the poor experience to the front desk who offered an appology but nothing else. Forcing guests to use the restaurant via food credits and vouchers is certainly a poor decision in my view especially if you're going to staff it so poorly.

We loved his little place! Arriving after a long and very rainy drive from Vegas, we were in need of rest and comfort and we found it! The staff welcomed us in a very friendly way and the reception looks like something out of a 1960s Christmas Special. The room, with 2 double beds, was very spacious and had clearly been recently, and very nicely, decorated. The bathroom was lovely and lots of little touches hinted at a more 'luxurious' approach. The TV was not exactly flat screen but everything worked and showed lots of effort.

On arrival we were presented with an evening meal voucher for the restaurant ($30) and I have to admit it was incredible! My son's pizza was three feet across and my fajitas appeared to be a serving for six! The quality of the food was also excellent, the waiting staff were so friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend eating at the hotel - as the decor alone is a wonderful experience. There is also a voucher for breakfast and it was equally large and tasty.

We had selected this hotel as it offered on-site horse riding into the hills. Unfortunately we arrived during the only rainy 4 days a year that Arizona has, so the horse riding had to close. However, the riding looked great so, if this is something you fancy, then give it a look. The other hotel facilities, such as the pool, spa and outdoor games areas, also looked great but were not open for use during their 'monsoon' season (as the receptionist joked!) Clearly none of this is the fault of the hotel so does not impact on my review.

I think the only negative of this hotel is that it is approx an hour's drive from the Grand Canyon. We did not mind as we decided to visit Bearizona in the nearby town of Williams. This is an outdoor Bear and wildlife reserve, which we loved, so do not be put off by the extra driving.

The hotel offers great value, comfort and a memorable restaurant experience.

Well worth a visit.

We are so thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and you dinner at The Ranch Bar & Grill. We hope that you are able to visit us again and take that horseback ride you were wanting. We are also glad you enjoyed Bearizona, we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful experience so close for our guests. We truly recommend every guest visit them. We stayed here for 1 night, coming from the Grand Canyon where we stayed in El Tovar. The lobby from the hotel looks very nice. We got a room near the horses, and horses stink....Sheets and towels were clean, but rooms (we had 2) had a strange smell. Carpet had stains. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but went to Williams, a very nice Route 66 town.
