This is a sweet li'l railroad themed spot on the east end of town. Talk about quiet...& the stars at night are amazing. I pulled in 1 evening, a weary Route 66 traveler. Shirley, a very cheery young woman, stepped outside to greet me (nice touch). Comforting to this tired soul, she gave me a sense of calm as the dust of the road settled around my feet. After washin' the Route off, I went into town to a restaurant in an 1860 building that Shirley had suggested (& gave a discount Qpon for). The girl knows what she's talkin' 'bout. And, for breakfast, ask her where to find the best biscuits & gravy EVER!!! Williams is a trip back in time & where better to see how far back then in the cemetery (beautiful & peaceful). The motel offers a semi-sorta circle of cottages & a choice of 3 train cars to sleep in. Landscape is rustic with the Route & railroad in mind. This is definitely a place I'll return to on my next Rte 66 trip. Maybe this time I'll stay in a caboose : )
Thanks for makin' me feel welcome. See ya again, Penny B
