I usually stay at the Lodge on Route 66 or the Downtowner. Both were booked so I reserved a room at the Best Western due to the great reviews.
We arrived at the hotel around 10pm, when the lounge closes. My husband and friends very much wanted to relax and have a drink, so we asked the bartender if she would stay open and she did, until midnight. She was very friendly and gave great service.
The room smelled very musty and the hall had a faint smell of cat urine. The decor was average, but I could live with it. The room seemed clean. However, when we awoke the next morning, the room did not look clean. There was hair in the shower and on the floor with gunk in the corners. The bed however was clean and the mattress was fine. The next night the housekeeper had done a much better job.
The next morning was very moist outside which saturated our room and hall with that lovely cat urine smell. As you walk down the hall towards the lobby, the smell goes away. I went to my two friend's room which were both much better than ours. If you were to stay at this hotel I would pick a room on the second floor or in the 100 - 120 range on the first floor.
The morning was beautiful outside. The grounds are pretty and the pine smell wonderful. They have a continintal breakfast which was alright. They have walfuls, cereals, pastries, juice, and hard boiled eggs. No bacon or sausage though.
I probably would never stay here again. Only if I have to. We come to Williams several times a year and I will stick my usual hotels.
