This was my fourth stay at the Sheridan House Inn. Past trips have been after hiking in the Grand Canyon. My friends and I liked the location next to the forest as a way to ease back into our normal lives. The deck and views are wonderful.
In December 2006, my husband and I had returned from watching the boarding of the Polar Express Train in Williams (Grand Canyon Railway). Our host K.C. told us that families have stayed at the Sheridan House Inn when they take the train trip. Train tickets were on sale for the 2007 season. Our planning began within days. We bought train tickets and booked 3 suites for two nights. The ten of us, including 4 children, had lots of space with privacy and could use the shared spaces like the pool room and play room for getting together. There was even a table in the dining room that seated 10 so we enjoyed a big family breakfast together.
The Grand Canyon Railway has trips year round to the South Rim. Williams is a fun small town to explore and a good location for seeing the sites of Northern Arizona. The hosts at Sheridan House Inn will provide suggestions if needed.
What was particularly special about this trip was being able to share it in a family friendly Inn and having the second day to explore more of the Williams area.
