My wife and I stayed in Williams for three nights, and dined at the Red Raven twice. We asked our motel owner where to eat, and he told us that the Red Raven is a must! Yep, he was right...gourmet dining in a small town on Main Street Route 66. We were able to park right out in front, diagonally, on Route 66, both nights.
My "melt-in-your-mouth" ribeye steak was so wonderful, that even though I made up my mind to try something different, I ordered it again on night # 3. Motel owner Bob was right on the money with that recommendation! We would have eaten there all three nights, but they are closed on Mondays.
That's okay, though, because it gave my wife and I a chance to eat at an authentic Route 66 1940's gas station that has been converted into a 50's style diner.
The Red Raven is very lovely inside. Everyone is smiling and having a great time, enjoying the wonderful cuisine. It is family owned, with mom there running the business, and daughters doing the waitressing. On both evenings, we were seated in the table in the window, so we could watch all of the strolling people, and all of the "action" on Route 66, as we dined.
Begin with freshly baked bread and chive butter to die for. Terrific fresh greens with yummy homemade dressings. My wife had the Norway imported fresh salmon---I was glad that we traded some ribeye steak for some salmon---ah!---the best of both worlds! Delicious "real" iced tea. Great coffee! Very attentive and friendly service from the waitresses. And---very reasonable prices for this fine dining experience on Route 66 in downtown Williams, Arizona. If you visit Williams, this restaurant is a must!!!
