This hotel is a housed in a beautiful gut renovated ( in 2005? ) historic building, has an assortment of rooms, some with full baths (70+ tax), some with shared baths (50 to 60 + tax). I think there is even a "backpackers room", 20 a night but I didn't see the room istself. Rooms are tastefully decorated with unique & interesting antiques. Very comfortable bed and linens. The ceilings in this place are HUGE, really gives it that old west feel. Overall hotel common areas are charming, many working wood stoves, great old artwork & other items.
The owner & evening staff person Matt were really nice folks, willing to go the extra mile for us but all we had energy for was a place to sleep.
There were no other guests the night we stayed- as this place is more expensive than some of the traditional route 66 tourist motel fare I hope it can do well attracting guests looking for a more old fashioned & homey experience.
There were no TVs or phones in the rooms (fine with us) but I did see cable & phone jacks in the walls so perhaps this technology will be added later. There is a TV downstairs and the hotel hosts a nightly free movie night, Matt seemed excited to let us pick out the evenings film but we were more interested in food & sleep.
I highly recommend this hotel to travellers looking to avoid the standard route 66 tourist traps, it's one of the most quietly charming and unique places we've ever stayed. The town of Williams is a super friendly place, we had a blast meeting locals and other grand canyon day trippers from around the world.
