My husband and I booked this hotel for 3 nights through Expedia. I am pregnant, and ended up getting sick the second day. We asked if we could cancel our third night. We were given a shrug of the shoulders and told, "You booked through Expedia..." and that;s it! We ended up having to cut our vacation short, and left a day early. We called Expedia to get a refund for the third night, and they could only give us a refund if the hotel agreed. So, they had to call the hotel, and the hotel refused. So all along, the hotel owner knew she wasn't going to give us a refund from the beginning, but didn't tell us!
Also, we reserved a room with a full bed and a bathroom. When we checked in, we were given an option to upgrade to a queen bed for 15$ more, but when we decided to take a room without a bathroom, (because the rooms with bathrooms had no windows and were VERY small) they were unwilling to give us the rate for the room without a bath. We ended up having to eat about 120$ because of their inflexibility and lack of understanding.

This hotel is really something different and beautiful. The hotel is already really old and that is what makes it so nice for american standarts. The atmosphere is so great. We could pick our one room out of of a few they showed us.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the rooms are small ans the beds are small, which is nice for us people but maybe there are people that really want a big bed. They did have a twin room to.

We stayed at the Grand Canyon hotel at the end of a long string of passable but dull Best Westerns and Motel 6s, and it still stands out as my favourite stay of that holiday.

We stayed in the ocean room. The owner invited us to wander around and choose our favourite, and then told us there was a movie screening in the back room that night. We ate dinner and breakfast at an amazing diner across the road and spent most of the evening in a local bar, and walking around reading the historic plaques. My husband enjoyed our visit to the railway station....we now have plenty of train pictures.

I was sorry we only spent one night here and wanted to work a repeat visit back into our trip this summer but sadly Williams is in the opposite direction. Going back to a place is a rare occurrence for me (too many other things to see!) so I cannot give it a higher recommendation than that.

By far our favorite Hotel of our trip. We arrived and were greeted by the owner, Amy. We had reserved the Three Sisters room (2 twin beds) but a mix-up had us upgraded to the Paris room and then adjoining room which was perfect. The rooms were decorated and very cute. The cleanliness was great! Other rooms do not come with a private bath but share the "Wash Closet" down the hall. I didn't see that facility but imagine if it's like our bathroom, is most likely a stand-up shower. I would recommend the extra money for a private bathroom. The Hotel was in the center of Williams and in walking distance to all shops and restaurants. The railway is also a walking or very short drive distance. Free wifi and coffee were offered. The rooms did not have TVs or any other frills but were very comfortable and clean. Definitely a great buy and lots of fun. Definitely would/will stay here again!

...Seriuosly !! - If you are looking for a place to stay in Williams this is it..!! Walking thru the doors of the grand canyon hotel is like stepping back in time... The magnificent town of Williams Arizona is not to be missed... But the stop is made even better with a stay at this hotel... As soon as we opened the front door we were greeted with warm smiles and a warm reception... we were told to - "head on upstairs and look at the rooms AND PICK THE ONE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE..!!!" Can it possibly get any better than that.?? This hotel is an eclectic mix of everything old and unique to route 66, and if you are travelling on route 66 then this place is simply a MUST STOP. After spending 20 mins just admiring the maticulously, renevated themed rooms, we decided on 1 room each.. (there were 3 of us) each room a different theme from the next...... Forget the previous reviewers saying they had no shower or open window.. YOU CAN PICK YOUR OWN ROOM !! My room was small, but what it lacked in size, it well and truly made up for in character, grace, authenticity and charm !! This AWESOME little hotel (its not really a B&B) is 100 times better and more charming than a lifeless, plastic, sterile, faceless, franchise hotel...The hotel owners Oscar and Amy were fantastic and couldnt do enuff for us... I had an incredibly comfy bed and a fantastic nights sleep... i dont give a cracker that the shower was small.. after all I WAS ON A MISSION TO SEE THE REAL AMERICA -and at the grand canyon hotel in williams arizona - thats exactly what i got
P.S forget a T.V - who needs TV when there is sooooo much to see and do in williams !!
