Not sure what people expect from a buffet, but this was just fine. We had no complaints from my MIL, so it must have been ok! Nothing fancy, just the usual buffet stuff. We had dinner and breakfast here, both were good. We were seated promptly, dinner by the fireplace which was nice, huge huge dining room. Try the oatmeal...it'll make you feel better.

The thing about the buffet at Max and Thelmas is that it is kind of boring. It's not a bad buffet, it's just not particularly good. They could add spices and seasonings to the veggies to make them taste better and maybe have more of a variety.

When I booked this trip , I was a little nervous - Had some bad reviews.... But , was pleasantly surprised , pretty good service for a buffet , and pretty good food! One could also use the vouchers at Spensers Bar or at the gift shop ... Food wasn't gourmet by any means,but good plain food.... This may be because the restaurant changed hands this spring , now run by the national park vendor giant Xanterra ....

Me and my family booked a trip to the Polar Express-Grand Canyon Railroad in Wiliams Arizona. In the package we purhased we recieved free coupons to eat at Max & Thelmas I read the reviews (which were bad) so we thought we would try it. The plan was if it was bad we would just leave. The Food was GREAT. We had dinner. Turkey, ham, garlic mashed potatoes, green bean cassrole, tamale pie, salad bar, dessert bar. Everything was good. The jello was a little watery, but my son loved it. Breakfast was great too. Eggs, ham, susage, fruits, oatmeal. Lots of variety. Loved everything. Planning on going again next year.
