My husband and I had a fabulous time at Rod's charming steak house. It was everything I wanted for an anniversary dinner while on our thanksgiving weekend vacation. We met Laurence and Stella Sanchez the second owners since it was originally opened by Rod many decades ago.

We both ordered the filet mignon and lobster , mine was cooked (medium), and his was cooked (well), both the filet and the lobster was very good, served with warmed drawn butter in a darling candle lit serving dish.
Having been a catering manager for a top hotel in Newport Beach, CA. I am very fussy! It was wonderful!
The christmas lights and decor were very warm and inviting. Our dining experiance did not disappoint!
We will always make it a point to return to Rod's when ever we are in the area.

A low key restaurant. Primarly beef on the menu. Long time ownership ( founded in 40"s and passed on to former bus boy )
We found food and service to be above average.

We stayed in Williams in September 2007 while visiting the Grand Canyon. I was told by Triple A that this was a great place to eat so we tried it. It was cute but very dark inside. The service was great and very attentive. However, the food was not all that great. The biggest issue was my mother wanted French dressing for her salad and she was brought ketchup. They acted like they had no idea they gave her ketchup and obviously didn't know what French dressing was! The wait staff wasn't great with the English. It was a good steak but I would not go again. It was expensive for what you got too.

“Stuff your $$ in a rat hole before you waste it here.”

Rod's Steak House

During my visit to the Grand Canyon I stopped at Rods (although I was advised by many locals to avoid this pit) for a little bite and was expecting a good steak. When we entered the place it completely stanked of lighter fliud and charcoal...should have been the red flag that sent us elsewhere...but no we stayed. The wine list was grossly average...not a big deal were in Williams, the steaks look good so we decided to give it a whirl. I had the steak and lobster..The steak was burnt, tasted of lighter fluid (a smell that was familiar at this point) and was tough for a filet. Now the lobster was a complete wreck. Cardboard would describe the taste and had the texture of a rubberband. No biggie you hit and miss..right..wrong..... my girlfriends steak was rare..by rare I mean RARE(she had asked for medium well.)..no biggie..the second time it was medium well but 1/4inch of the outside was BLACK. The third time 1/2 inch was black and it was well done. At this point we asked for the check (I think she ate baked potatoe the entire dinner) and when reviewing the check we discovered they made a $25 error on the bar tab that took two attempts to resolve.

Pros: Good ROLLS

Suggestion: Take the $ you would waste at this pit and put it in your IRA!
