My husband and I searched for a room in the Williams area during Memorial Day weekend. What we could find, the rates were outrageous. We got lucky and found a room at the Grand for 1 night on a hotel booking site. We arrived tired after a 6 hour drive. The owner checked us in. She was very cordial, informative and accomodating. She told us the Grand was the first motel built in Williams in 1939. We were in a double queen which were in 2 separate rooms. It was neat and clean right down to the pleasant smell as you walked in. Loved the retro lamps, the stucco walls (freshly painted) and the laminate wood floors (I HATE carpet in a hotel...won't walk on them barefoot). I didn't mind walking on these barefoot. It had a kitchenette area, complete with the retro sink. Had coffeemaker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom had new fixtures but the original tub and tile which was spotless! The decor was native american. The very BEST was the beds. They were heaven. We've been on the road for 9 days and that was the best I slept the whole trip. Linens fresh and clean. This place is a real gem. If you get the chance stay here. You won't regret it!
