This is really called the Canyon Motel in Williams Arizona.
My wife and I stayed in the Pullman car "cozy" room formerly known as the honeymoon room for two nights. This room is very small but very cozy, and we only used the room for sleeping (and... well... um.... 'nuff said...). Remember, the room in this train car was originally called the Honeymoon room and the name was changed (you have to ask Kevin and Shirley about the story behind the room name change). Also keep in mind it is a real Pullman train car that was remodeled for sleeping accommodations. Overall the place was really wonderful.
Kevin and Shirley are absolutely delightful people and seemed to have found their life long dream in the ownership of the Canyon Motel. Their story is fascinating (you can read all about them and the story of the Motel) in the office/check-in area or speak with them about it yourself when you stay at the Canyon Motel.
If you are claustrophobic, the cozy room may not be for you; however, if you only want to sleep and be "close", it is highly recommended. The Canyon Motel also has several cottages, 2 Caboose cars with rooms and a Pullman car with rooms. We happened to be travelling across the country, saw their ad on the internet, wanted to see the Grand Canyon and enjoy the train ride to/from Williams and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and decided to book the room. What a better way to do this than to stay in a railroad car the night before and the night following a day on a train ride to and from the south rim of the Grand Canyon.
A more than adequate continental breakfast was provided each day that offered coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, water, and assorted breads, rolls, etc. We ate our breakfast outside at a picnic table listening to the birds and enjoying the great outdoors.
The attached photos were taken the morning of the day we left and it was raining. Yes, we would stay there again!
