“Perfect Choice for a Canyon Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

We booked the Best Western sight unseen based entirely on the website. We are very happy with the choice. The Best Western is a great facility in excellent condition. Our room had been updated in the recent past and was very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast, which was included and listed as a "continental breakfast" turned out to be a full buffet with great choices of excellent entrees. The staff was excellent as well. Since the hotel is only a couple of miles or less from the Canyon Park entrance, it is very well situated. If we ever return to the Canyon, we will use the Best Western!

Room Tip: The rooms all have in wall units that come on an off at night while heating or cooling. We had no p...

We stayed here with our Airmiles. I feel like since we had to pay for one of the rooms we could have gotten a better deal, but overall the hotel is fine. The arcade and bowling alley proved to be great in the evening as their isn't much to do. I do wish there was a pool though as after a hot day in the canyon it would have been nice. The restaurants in the hotel are nothing spectacular, The happy hour is great though! Definitely make time for that. The rooms were cramped. Try to get a room in the main building or near it as some of them are way far away from all the amenities. Our first room was terrible as it was a long walk to the main building and was just kind of a grungy room. We asked if there were other rooms and were moved into building 3000 which was pretty good. The walls are quite thin though so noise travels. Not the best Best Western I've stayed in, but it was passable.

Room Tip: Get the main building or be too far away from the amenities.

This had to be the worse Breakfast experience we've ever had. The date was May 2nd, 2015 and we walked into a reasonably empty restaurant where not one but two different parties were disputing their checks. There were only about four tables that were full at that time. Three different servers/hosts looked at us and ignored us for about five minutes. Finally we were seated. Other people came in and were seated immediately which made us wonder what was wrong with us. When we ordered, we were told the food would be ready in 5-6 minutes. After about 12 minutes, we were brought over fruit cups to bide the time. Then our server came over and said he forgot to put one of the two orders in and that he had just put it in. He brought over our toast/English Muffins over which proceeded to get cold while waiting another 15 minutes for our food. Once we received our plated breakfasts, we were both surprised to find out how skimpy the portions were. The bacon was so thin, that you could see through it. The food otherwise was fine and the coffee was good. This horrible experience costs us close to $34.00. The rest of the $35.00 was left as a tip because the server needs to know that the service level was well below average. We will never eat in this hotel again. The Breakfast Buffet at the Canyon Plaza Resort was much less expensive, had superior service and allowed generous portions that we didn't have to wait for.

I did not think this hotel was going to be as nice as it was. The lobby with the fireplace is very inviting. I liked the fact that there were computers available and free wifi. It is very close to the Grand Canyon. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

This hotel is in easy reach of the Grand Canyon South Rim area. The lobby has a helicopter booking service for those who wish to see the Grand Canyon from the air. It is off the main road and is easy to get to. Parking fills up fast. There is a gas station about than a block away. Good value.

We were only staying one night and had booked this in advance. Small town of Tusayan, just south of Grand Canyon, is pretty limited in hotels and restaurants but we were pleasantly surprised with the room and checkin service. We didn't feel like paying for the 'fine dining' experience that many other reviewers have commented on so we ate at the sports bar on the lower level. Typical pub fare of fish & chips, burgers, pizza etc which suited us just fine. Great little games area downstairs as well including their own lanes of 10 pin bowling. We had a special deal through our travel agent which included complimentary breakfast, otherwise it would have cost about $10/person. Good selection of breakfast food there. I would return again without a second thought.

The food was expensive, but good and there wasn't anything else in town so it was nice to have a comfortable place to dine after a long day of hiking. The prime rib was excellent as was the lamb. The crab cakes were terrible-tasted like they came out of a package bought at the local grocery store. When asked how the dinner was, I did comment that I hadn't like the crab cake and they took it off the bill. The room was very comfortable as was the bed.
