“Excellent Choice for Grand Canyon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Why pay so much more to stay inside the Grand Canyon National Park when you can save some money at this lovely hotel which is situated just a few minutes drive to the gate entrance of the park. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Room was large, clean and beds were comfortable. Very quiet even though hotel was fully booked. Plenty of parking although it might be difficult to find a spot near your room. Hotel consists of several blocks. Restaurant, shops, reception, breakfast room, laundry and everything else is in the main building so ask for a room in main building if you don't want to walk too far. Only the main building has elevator.

Staff at reception were very helpful and professional. There is also a travel desk where you could get maps, information and book helicopter rides etc.

Great Breakfast in a very large and spacious room enough for all guests. For dinner, we ate at the Coronado Room restaurant within the hotel. Food was good but a bit expensive as serving portion was small. Good value though if you catch the early bird dinner special.

Another great feature of this hotel is the games arcade with pool tables and bowling. What a super idea to have this in the hotel. In the evenings, there is really nothing much to do in Tusayan so it was fun to be able to enjoy these facilities. The bowling was very popular among the many families staying at the hotel.

Would definitely stay here again and absolutely highly recommended.

Dear James S.:

Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to write and post a review of our property here at the canyon.

We appreciate your kind words regarding our front desk staff as they do try very hard to be friendly, accommodating and informative, and to have pointed out that our housekeeping staff keeps the rooms clean, comfortable and safe for our guests.

On another note, our gift shop is open from 9-5 p.m. daily during the winter. This is our off season and unfortunately there is not enough traffic passing through it to keep it opened any later during this period. Please realize we are also in a remote part of the country and prices of generally ordinary or daily used products do tend to be more costly than in other places you might travel to.

Again thank you and if you’re ever in our neck of the woods again, we hope you’ll stay with us.

Sincerely, Heather

“Will definitely be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in November. It was a great stay. The staff was so helpful in giving us advice on our trip. Amy at the front desk was especially helpful. When we were checking in, she suggested that we head right to the canyon to catch the sunset which was beyond spectacular. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. There was a coffee maker with hot water for tea or hot chocolate and a refrigerator. The iPhone dock was a plus. The breakfast buffet was great with a lot of items that you don't usually see on a free breakfast buffet. I read some comments about the food on the buffet being cold (but we just popped our platter into the microwave that was across from the buffet for 30 seconds to resolve that). The restaurant in the hotel was excellent and a bargain if you can catch the early bird special from 4 to 6 p.m. We would recommend this hotel and will stay there again on our next trip to the Grand Canyon.

“Clean and a GREAT continental breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Seriously great breakfast. Best I've seen for continental. Not just your average fruit loops, muffin and coffee. Spacious, clean room. Very well priced for all that you're getting! I will be coming back to the grand canyon in the future, and I will (without shopping around) be booking a stay here once again.

We also were glad you enjoy your spacious room and found it welll priced for what you received.

“Perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

This was the perfect place to stay while we recently visited the grand canyon. The rooms were huge and very clean. Staff was excellent and very helpful. The price cannot be beat for such a great room. Literally a couple of minutes to the gates of grand canyon. The free breakfast in the morning had many choices and while not the best i have ever had still filled us up. The hot tub in indoors and is quite small but we still squished in 8 people. There is also a bowling alley that was fun and a little lounge. There is not much in this town and the alcohal is expensive in the gas station so I recommend bringing it and snacks with you if possible to save a little money.Nice gift shop as well. The hotel is fantastic- I will return if ever here again.

Dear dudesd:

I’d like to take a moment and thank you for writing and then posting this review of our hotel.

We were so pleased to learn that you thought this was the perfect place to stay here at the Grand Canyon. I know the staff appreciates being complemented and the continental breakfast buffet is good and very popular. As we are in a remote area, items normally less expensive other places do tend to be a bit pricey here although our room prices cannot be beat.

We are so happy again you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit.

Sincerely,
Heather
