Stables handled our group of 30 people with as much attention to detail as they do for a table of 2 or 4 people. The ambiance of both the groomed golf course and ranch pasture with cattle visible from our dining table always makes it a special setting. Unlike many restaurants where one feels isolated when dining as a group, the Stables Ranch Grill retains their special western atmosphere.
We had beverages on the patio enjoying a mild Arizona winter evening prior to our meal inside. The meal and the service was excellent. The compressed arugula salad with dried cherries & pecans was ample and delicious. My roasted free range chicken breast with mushroom ragout & broccolini was yummy. My husband's mesquite smoked braised beef short rib was tender and flavorful. And the assortment of interesting breads were the best I have had in Arizona, especially the multi-grain bread garnished with various seeds. Our table of 9 ran out of both the breads and the butter "flowers", but they were promptly replenished. And the marscapone cheese taramisu with frangelico anglaise & fresh berries was a wonderful way to end our delicious meal. Service was outstanding. Having been at hundreds of group meal functions, I would rank this one as one of the best. Thanks Stables for a great evening!
