“Came back for a second night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Selected this hotel because of the location seemed to be the perfect driving distance from Sedona since we were making seveal scenic stops along the way. The room was good size and quiet, front desk staff very pleasant and helpful, and they offered free fry bread (fried dough) in the lobby in the evening - but make sure you get it early while it's still warm. We found a grocery store where we could buy fresh fruit and bottled drinks for the road. The free breakfast was served in the restaurant next door and was good, plentiful, and served by pleasant staff, but very slow - so relax and enjoy. Talking about slow - the internet service was extremely slow. I understand we were in the middle of nowhere - but still.....
With that said, the good overpowered the bad and we chose to stay there again on our return trip from Arches on our way to the Grand Canyon.

We stayed here on our way out of the Grand Canyon en route to Utah. Our stay here for a couple came to just under $116 which is on the steep side for a Quality Inn of middling standard. The room was the shape and almost the size of a squash court in one of the two large wings ranged round a courtyard. It was definitely quiet and we slept well though the room smelled as if it had once been a smoking room. The hotel has a slightly faded air and it was dusty but not dirty though it wasn't spotlessly clean either. The room had a fridge and microwave as well as coffee, and a good quality LCD TV. The Wifi was on the slow, but acceptable, side in the room and positively funereal on the lobby guest computer which was almost unusable (it was as if it was dial-up rather than broadband). Breakfast was in the adjacent restaurant and it's server-style rather than buffet so that made it slow; there's a choice of three dishes and of course it's 'gratuity not included'. The food was adequate rather than breathtaking though the sausage did have the unusual quality of being remarkably like a British sausage, which is extremely odd in the US. There's not a lot of choice in Tuba City and not much else anywhere close, hence the price - I'd have expected to pay $60-75 for this motel anywhere else especially as there is no pool. So this is a perfectly adequate motel which at a more reasonable price would be good value; as it stands it's a lot for what it is but if you need to stay a night in the area then that's the end of that and you're going to pay.

As for other 'amenities', McDonalds is across the road, KFC further along, down towards the lights there's a Subway and over them a Denny's. Would I stay here again? If I had to, yes - but I wouldn't go out of my way.

We chose Tuba City as a stopping point between the Grand Canyon and Zion. Interesting experience to see the Navajo Reservation. The staff was professional and welcoming. They gave free fry bread in the lobby for the kids to try. The hallways are a little old, but the room was completely remodelled and spacious. The free breakfast in the restaurant next door was great. It was a good choice for our family.

We stayed in this motel after a day spent driving and touring the Grand Canyon. We chose it because of the reasonable price and the reviews. The good: The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and our room was clean. The bad: The room at the end of the hall (second floor) was designated as a "smoking" room and the stench permeated the entire hallway. I realize that smokers need to sleep, too, but there really should be a ventilation system to mitigate the smell. In addition, the entire hotel needs carpet cleaning and painting as it was quite dirty. Since we were only there one night and, as I said, the room itself was clean, it was passable but I certainly wouldn't have stayed here for longer. The restaurant next door had good food and the adjacent museum/trading post next door were very interesting and well kept.

Tuba City is situated between Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon so in our case it was a perfect spot on our roadtrip. The hotel and room itself were nicely appointed, clean and with some traditional Indian touches. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There is no lift however (but the hotel has only two floors).

Hotel was a respite after driving through UT all day. Clean, average appointments and a good value for the area. Wonderful Navajo paintings throughout the hallways of this two story walkup hotel - interior corridors. Tuba city is 100% within the confines of wither the Navajo or Hopi reservations, depending on where you are....this hotel is on the Navajo Res.
Windows open - Yay it was cool AC was a bit loud
Fresh fry bread served at 6:30 PM coffee/tea 24/7 in the lobby which could use new couches and carpet shampooed.
Room was well decorated and clean - bath wall paper dated.
Coffee maker in room as well as fridge and micro and flat screen TV
Staff when we checked in was non verbal but rest of staff was cheerful

Room Tip: Second floor is walk up Denny's was brand new and a great meal

A very nice property located in Navajo lands. We stayed on our road trip to the Grand Canyon, which is only an hour away. We drove in from Utah and stayed here after seeing the Vermillion Cliffs, Marble Canyon and other great sights on the way. A really great drive!!!
The breakfast is a coupon for the next-door restaurant, Hogans, and this is one of the best hotel breakfasts that I've had.
Next time, we plan to allow extra time to explore the Navajo and codetalker museum that is next door.
