“Tour of San Pedro Volcano”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

We had the most amazing tour guide in Isias when we ventured up San Pedro Volcano recently. He was patient, fun, informative and drove our three lagging bodies up that Volcano when we thought we were close to giving up!! An inspirational type of person, Isias is one of those special individual who adds so much to the world. He made our trip immensely enjoyable and unforgettable. If only ever place I visit has an Isias! Amazing company, good value and a well thought out/planned/co-ordinated tour.

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

We started out with a private small boat in Panajachel, going across the lake to San Juan. Pedro explained what we were seeing on the lake itself, and then what we would be doing in San Juan. He took us to several places, explaining at each place what was important, what to look for, and the background. We went to an artist's gallery, to an organic coffee finca for a tour, to a weaving coop, the church being rebuilt, and an herb garden belonging to a healing collective. At each place we learned so much, and it was great. At the end of the afternoon we went back across the lake, and he brought us back to our hotel. We were all very impressed with him as a guide.
Recommendations include good shoes for walking up hills in town, a hat for being outside, and a jacket for being on the lake.

“Great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

As a family with 2 kids, we spent the whole day in a boat tour around Lake Atitlan. Isaias, our guide, was perfect! He explained us a lot about the villages and their history, the lake itself and the cultural heritage. He never puts us in a rush and we were plenty of time to visit whatever we wanted or to stop for a coffee. I advise to see no more than 3 villages.

“Pedro was perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

If you're planning a trip to Guatemala and want excellent advice before you go and fantastic service once you're there get in touch with Pedro at Tours Atitlan. That's what we did and all the online reviews were right, he's terrific.
We sent him places we wanted to see and some hotels we thought would suit us and he came back with suggestions, advice and recommendations.Transferring funds to Guatemala proved to be a bit complicated but that was the only blip in an excellent arrangement. Transfers, tours, accommodation and flights all worked like clockwork, most of which was under Pedro's personal supervision.
Two out of the ordinary situations come to mind. Our travelling companion from the US had to return home early due to a medical emergency. We were in Antigua at the time but assistance with changes, transfers etc was provided with great efficiency.
The other happened on the bog, which passes for a road, out of the Mayan site at Yaxha. Just as it was getting dark our 4WD became seriously stuck in the mud with a burnt out clutchj and it looked like we were stuck there for the night. The driver walked further up the hill to get mobile reception and contacted Pedro, who sprang into action arranged rescue vehicles, advised our hotel we'd be late for dinner and kept in contact until we were safely home.
If that weren't enough Pedro is also an excellent, knowledgeable guide and able to give a real insight into the local Mayan culture. He also clearly cares about his clients and their needs.
To quote Ira Gershwin, ' Who could ask for anything more?' Unreservedly recommended.
