“Super disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My family has been coming here for years. They told every time they came it was beautiful service was great and the food was worth every penny. Well about a year ago the owners changed. When my family and I arrived we were super excited it's really beautiful here well when we got to the office we were greeted by a young Swedish lady who was nice, but something seemed to be off about her well few minutes later we head to our room which is beautiful, about an hour later we decided we wanted a snack so we go down and order something to.drink and some nachos well first off our drinks came out 15 minutes after we ordered and our "nachos" came out cold actually I don't know what the hell they were but they were aweful. Our drinks were terrible and the hot chocolate wasn't even sweet. Now I understand she was alone but it doesn't take aweful genius to make nachos and a few drinks. Another lady showed up wishing to checkout and waited along time just to leave her key. Finally 7 came around it was dinner time, our chef made a alright meal nothing to brag about. The chicken was overdone the cake was old. At the end we didn't eat much. My father ordered another drink which never came because our so called waitress who was also the one in charge while the owner was away decided she would talk to another lady that showed my mother left and I waited with my.father she got so caught up that she forgot about my dad. My father told me let's go he informed her not charge him for the beer he never got that we not attend breakfast or dinner. She acted very confuse. I hate to say this but service was horrible slow and this lady is completely dimwitted. I hope things change for the better, because at this point it will.go down hill if this lady is.around.

Vulcano lodge is beautiful, quiet, friendly and perfect for a quiet take on lake Atitlan. We were there with family and both children and adults enjoyed both the hotel and taking on other Atitlan towns using Vulcano lodge as our base. Dinner is a wonderful, exquisite affair with incredible food and a cozy setting. Homemade bread, yogurt and granola are extraordinary. The gardens are beautiful and relaxing. The staff is extraordinary. We discovered Vulcano Lodge a few months ago and were so happy that we came back with family and they loved it as well.

Accommodations are great, location could be better. The hotel is not directly on the beach. We stayed in the suite, great view and a wonderful terrace. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, polite, and a pleasure to talk with. You can't go wrong staying here, only down side is that it is not on the water.

This place is paradise. It's an excellent place to relax and forget about the world. Just sit back and have an excellent cup of coffee and enjoy your surroundings. The dinners are AMAZING and abundant. I enjoy eating and I definitely enjoyed myself. Homemade bread for breakfast and dinner. Nathalie and the rest of the staff were absolutely excellent. Missing my dogs was lessened by the presence of Tampa the resident watchdog. This place and the food are NOT to be MISSED.

We stayed in the only suite which has the only view of all the rooms. The view is incredible, the service with Nathalie as a host more than perfect and the food was great and still reasonable priced. Because of it's charm and overall great value around the lake, we even extended our stay for some more days. If you are looking for a quite spot to relax without the yoga nonsens - this spot is for you.
If you want to party and eat every night in a different restaurant give it a miss. In Jaibalito are only two more resort retaurants - slighly overpriced - and Hans, the rock bottom cheap guesthouse where all the hippies stay at.

If you are looking for a place off the tourist routes come to Jaibalito. This is the perfect place to relax and get a good local feeling of the lake and its Mayan people. Great location off the tourist routes (Pena, San Pedro) Great food as well as as good vibes form the awesome owner Gustav as well as his staff. You know you picked the perfect spot when you stand on the terrace, looking over a clear view of the lake with the volcanos in the back and a million fireflies dancing around in the cactus garden. A truly magical place.

This place is truly a gem. The lodge is fantastic and Walter, the 14 year old cook knows how to present an unforgettable culinary experience to delight anyone's appetite. The lodge is a well kept inn with beautiful gardens and the nicest owner and staff imaginable.
The location is great for hanging out at Ven Aca and enjoying their restaurant, bar and pool next door. The lanchas pick you up at the dock a short walk away and take you wherever you want to go on the lake. Thumbs up for this place!
