“A highlight of our trip to Guatemala”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Terje and his staff run a great place. The service is excellent. Our room was lovely. The meals were nice (including options for vegetarians). Dinner around the table with other guests was fun. A great place to explore the lake and surrounds. A definite highlight of our time in Guatemala. Hopefully we'll return one day. Thanks Terje!

“Go to Lake Atitlan so that you can stay here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

I got to brush my teeth on a balcony framed by flowery, exotic vines, overlooking the lake and surrounding volcanoes. Eating dinner there is a delicious, homemade 4 course dinner. The staff are so kind, polite, personable and professional.

“Relaxing and secluded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

It took a little effort to get to the hotel after we got off the bus. Like most hotels in the area, there is no elevator and you have to walk uphill, downhill, and stairs to get to the hotel. However, the surrounding was so beautiful, tranquil and calming that I didn't mind the walk at all. The room was simple but clean. The days I spent there were one of the few that I truly felt that I got the rejuvenation I needed from vacations. Highly recommended.

“Vulcano lodge, the best place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

I have had the peasure of beeing in Vulcano Lodge several times, and it is the best place for relaxing, eating, visiting the villages around the village, and having a reallly good time. It is a good place to spend time for couples, families, groups, or alone if you want to relax a bit.

Room Tip: All the rooms are exellent!

“A wonderful, relaxing, friendly place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We had a great time at the VL - it is off the path of some of the craziness of Atitlan and is immensely relaxing. The highlight is the family style dinner - where we met all sorts of nice and interesting people. Terje, the owner, is kind and generous. If we had one small complaint it is that the included breakfast is a bit small (we were traveling with 6 foot 3 twins!!). But the dinner made up it. We would definitely stay again.
