We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed it a lot. You have a big lonely beach right in front of you. The apartments are very spacious and we never had a problem with the fact not having an air-condition. The food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner was to my surprise really really good and we always looked forward to the next meal. The meals are eaten in a common area so you can share your stories of the day with other guests, which can be a lot of fun.
While in the region you can do various tours, which are offered by the hotel directly. We definitely recommend to do the Corcovado (La Sirena) tour. We were lucky enough to see a Puma in the wild while there. Also the snorkeling at Caño Island was a lot of fun and we have seen a lot of fish, dolphins and orcas. Our guide for all tours was Gustavo, who was absolutely great. He made a lot of pictures during the snorkeling, which we could copy on our laptop. It was also extremely fascinating doing a night tour around the hotel with him. Amazing how many animals could be found in so close vicinity to the hotel.
Getting to Drake Bay is an adventure in itself. We decided to go for the “easier way” and flew into Drake. Since we were the only 2 people travelling there that day, we had our “private jet”, with only us and the pilot. It definitely was an experience.
