I have never written a review before, but La Paloma inspired me. What a beautiful location. We were travelling with our 4 children, ages 5-21. We were very impressed with the guides. We went to Cano Island with Gustavo one day, and he was a great guide. We had hours of fun snorkeling and even saw sharks. Our tour guide to Corcovado National Park was Roy who was incredible. He could "hear" the animals way up in the trees. We saw 3 different kinds of monkeys, sloths, a crocodile and many fascinating birds.
The accomodations at La Paloma were breathtaking. Now that I have showered in the open air watching a toucan in the tree outside my bathroom, I will never enjoy an "indoor" showere again. Nicole and the rest of the staff were attentive to our every need. I loved the wake up knocks with the tray of coffee in the morning. The communal dining was great fun. We met some wonderful people from all over the world and enjoyed hearing their stories of adventure. This is definitely not the place to come if you want to just sit and relax but it is a great place for nature and adventure. It was a long hike into the town but it was worth it. Just my husband and I did that one day while the children relaxed after an exhausting excursion.
I would go back in an instant!
