“Ultimate Villa Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

My husband and I decided to travel to Dominical, Costa Rica for our wedding with our immediate families and stayed at Casa Ramon for the week of festivities. It is an amazing villa, well priced, which was built to fit into the natural setting but has modern/rustic finishes. It is set on the hillside so you have amazing views from the look out point and villa itself of the ocean. The villa is split into three floors with different living sections each with tons of space for everyone. Each room has individual a/c, which is much needed and are decorated uniquely keeping in line with the natural element in which the villa is situated. The beds are very comfortable with top of the line linens. The bathrooms are also clean and modern yet rustic. There are many different living areas inside and outside to enjoy. We spent the majority of our time by the pool or on the many outdoor balconies. The barbeque area at the top of the villa was perfect for a lovely evening with family. The main kitchen has everything you need to cook and is high-end. There is a small honeymoon casita detached from the rest of the house by the pool. The downstairs is a kitchen/living area with an upstairs massive bedroom with a beautiful rustic 4-poster bed overlooking the ocean.

The wildlife you see at the villa is astounding from toucans, frogs, monkeys, iguanas, insects, etc… It is close to some great attractions including Marino Ballena National Park and Corcovado National Park. A rental car is necessary. The area is beautiful with local beaches secluded and the coastline more forest than developments/buildings.

The pictures on the website are a very good representation of reality. Efron was an amazing manager attending to all our needs while at the same time giving us the space we needed. He was especially helpful and accommodating on our wedding day assisting in the reception set-up. He cares about your experience and added some personal touches to his management – decorating our bedroom on our wedding night with beautiful local flowers. I was really impressed and touched by this effort to ensure our wedding day was perfect. The housekeeping service was great with the rooms always well kept and the maintenance staff were superb with everything in working order. We had no complaints.

The owners were a pleasure to deal with. I had no issues in booking or organizing our stay. They were helpful in assisting us in the planning of transport to/from the airport and a personal chef service. The food by Jhonathon (personal chef) was absolutely amazing. My family to this day talks about all his amazing meals. It is definitely worth the extra cost as it incurs less hassle and more time to relax and enjoy the villa vacation experience.

Staying at Casa Ramon was definitely a once and a lifetime experience I will never forget as it allowed us a bit of luxury while being able to stay all together during our wedding week. It was the ultimate luxury experience! I cannot wait to go back!

This home is simply perfect. Beautifully situated near Dominical and Uvita, yet extreemly private. We felt that we were in a lux swiss family Robinson treehouse with amazing views of the jungle and ocean. The architecture fit so seamlessly into its surroundings.
There are three kitchens and three separate common areas that let our party of three families mingle and have private time as we wished. The bedrooms and baths are wonderfully appointed. We slept like babies in individually controlled ac bedrooms with amazingly comfortable mattresses and linens.
We saw some of the best wild life of our Costa Rican visit from the grounds. Tucans, frogs, monkeys and sloths.
The infinity pool was great and the on-site spa got a workout too!
Last, but not least, the staff is AMAZING! Efron, thanks to you for managing the property so beautifully and the rest of the gang for making this such a wonderful stay. We'll never forget the personalized service we recieved or the friendships we made. I truly couldn't recommend this home more!

We just got back from a 1 week stay at Casa Ramon. While there, we saw Toucans every day, Monkey's on four of our days (howlers on three days, and then white capuchin monkeys once), a very large iguana, and lots of various other birds and insects, not to mention the hundreds of crabs around the area. The house is in a prime wildlife viewing area, and with that comes a few uninvited guests, so if you mind little critters you may be unhappy with the geicos, crabs and other insects that will find their way inside the house from time to time. We found it easy to deal with.

The house is compartmentalized so that even large groups of people can enjoy time with one another while also getting away for one on one time if desired. The photos on their website are very accurate. The bedrooms are all air-conditioned using individual units that you can control, and they are very well appointed with good linen's, flat panel TVs with satellite cable and mostly en suite baths.

The main kitchen on the first floor is well stocked and has very nice appliances, including a new range that was going in a few days after we left, as I understand it. If you don't feel like cooking, there is an upscale boutique hotel within very easy walking distance (Cuna Del Angel) that has a decent restaurant.

The owners of this property have found an excellent manager of the property - he is personable, very attentive, easy to reach if need be, and able to accommodate any request or question, so rest assured you will be in good hands with regards to service.

The surf can be seen and heard breaking on the beach from the pool deck and look out point of the house, and there is a beach trail to a small beach close by. Note that this trail is not easy, but it's still available.

Just to provide a well rounded review, there were a few things that were not ideal, the biggest being that you can easily hear the noise from the highway near by. Note that you can still hear the monkeys and the surf while also hearing the traffic. Also, the house has a lovely landscaped back yard with flowering shrubs and trees and a good jungle/ocean/mountain view. That being said, below the landscaped yard is almost a parking lot of sorts. It didn't bother us much, but it was definitely an eyesore on the rest of the back yard. Finally, there are a few small wear and tear items that could be fixed, but I am hesitant to make a big deal about these things because the house truly is very comfortable and well maintained given that it's near the ocean in a tropical rain forest climate.

I would definitely recommend Casa Ramon to parties wishing to see wildlife in Costa Rica and take advantage of the warm weather and the local flavor of Dominical and Uvita. It's not quite 5 star given some of the slight wear and tear we saw, and given the road noise. That being said, it's very comfortable and the bedrooms/beds are great. The house is definitely one of a kind and I don't believe anyone would regret staying here provided that the south/central Pacific coast of Costa Rica was your destination.

Room Tip: There are 5 bedrooms in the main house. 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor - one has a tub (the only tub in...

Eight friends went in together to vacation at Casa Ramon. The outdoor living area and pool were where we spent 85% of the day. The rooms were all very different and each one had its own unique feature. At the end of the day the a/c was a must. The manager and staff were so nice and helpful. We lacked for nothing! The chefs prepared the meals we requested (ahead of time) to perfection! The washer, dryer and clothes line came in handy after the rafting and deep sea fishing adventures. The hotel restaurant near the property was world class. It was reasonable and you DO need to pop by and make reservations. The property manager called in a massage therapist for the day on two separate occasions. It was wonderful. There is a private, air conditioned massage room that overlooks the jungle.
We plan on returning with our whole family someday.

Our family just returned from an amazing stay at this BEAUTIFUL villa. We shared the villa with some friends of ours and there was plenty of room for everybody. The design and decor are extraordinary. The concierge and housekeeping staff were excellent. The villa had wonderful ocean and mountain fews. Toucans were often seen in the trees and we saw our fair share of howler monkeys which the kids (and adults!) enjoyed.
The villa is well located - half way between the towns of Dominical and Uvita which both offer good dining choices and even supermarkets.
I have had the good fortune of staying in some beautiful places, and this villa ranks right up there with the best of them.

I can't say enough about our stay at Casa Ramon...this place is heaven. My family and I have been visiting Costa Rica for the past several years, and Casa Ramon, was by far, the best vacation that we've had. The accomodations were beautiful, the staff was so helpful, the views and sounds of the ocean and the wildlife (monkeys, sloths, toucans, etc.) on the grounds were amazing. We also hired a chef (Jhonnatan Amador) for the length of our stay...the best decision we made. The food was comparable to dining at a 5 star restaurant. If you are considering Casa Ramon for your next vacation don't waste your time looking at other rentals, trust me, you won't be disappointed. Hoping to return very soon...

I have to begin by explaining that due to my job I get the chance to stay in many different places. I have traveled around the world, and I have had the chance to be exposed to many different rental houses, hotels, etc. The first point that called my attention about Casa Ramon was the initial contact: the owners. Their grace and professionalism is refreshing. A product is as good or as bad as the service that surrounds it creating the experience, so the beginning was great.

I stayed at Casa Ramon for 4 nights with my family on an inspection visit. My job is not to commend, but rather to give a fair critique, however, in this case Casa Ramon takes home all the prizes.

1. Rooms: the class and taste they decorated the place with is superb. Every detail has been taken care of meticulously - the mattresses are top of the line (that is one true measure of quality from where I am standing), the quality of the linens, the layout of each sleeping area has been done in a thought out way. The bathrooms are not just regular bathrooms, they all have details that make it unique from each other and extremely pleasant spaces. L' Occitane toiletries summarize the essence of the experience.

2. Decor: rustic/modern with high quality pieces, you can see details of taste such as the hand picked glass lamps, beautiful wall paintings, ample sofas, with solid tables and plenty of couch relaxing areas. Nothing is torn, nothing is dirty, everything in mint condition.

3. Unit: the house is divided into three floors. The spaces are very well distributed in that they are inclusive, yet private enough so you can manage your stay according to how social you wish to be. The Honeymoon Casita: is a little casita of the side of the pool that is private with its own kitchen and a beautiful four poster bed overlooking the ocean.

But the most impressive thing of all was this: in a house of that size and caliber, where you can find 9 different wine glass types, and everything you could envision for your own kitchen (never mind a holiday kitchen!) has everything in perfectly working order. Many times, properties such as this will have many gadgets, and you get enthused until you try to use some and they are not in working order. Then the romance is gone...At Casa Ramon the maintenance crew does such a superb job, there isn't a SINGLE thing that does live in working order.

What a vacation! I hope I have the chance to revisit.

Room Tip: The Master Bedroom and the Honeymoon Room offer a fantastic view!
