This was my second visit (first in 2006) and was even more enjoyable. Well-signed off the Costanera Sur, personable staff beginning with the owner, Jack Ewing, who remembered me because of photos I gave him for the website. Spacious cabin with kitchen/fridge. Fans circulated the air nicely at night despite the heat/humidity. The pool is delightful and perfect for lowering body temps after long days on the beach/in the forest. We stayed two full days for forest and beachcombing photography. The beach at low tide is dramatic; bring lots of memory cards for the flotsam and waves. Didn't swim bc of 10' surf but admired it mightily. Tons of birds everywhere so keep your camera with you. Food was good, some meals more flavorful than others. B'fast was excellent and the staff were all very friendly.
I hope you'll get to see the gray-necked wood rail whose twilight call sounds like a flock of drunken chickens - seriously crazy. We just heard but could not find it/them?
A great place to break up a trip from North-South or vice versa and see lots of wildlife in a spectacular setting. They are a truly green lodge and are on my highly-recommended list.
