“Wrong Prices on the Menu”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

My husband and I ordered a pizza and when the check came we thought there was mistake with the price so we brought it to the attention of the waitress. We were then told that the pizza was $5.00 more than the price on the menu and that the menu was an old menu and the new ones had not been printed. It ruined our meal.

“Suspect overcharging upon paying bill”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Not the first time I've seen this done in Costa Rica, but it will be the last time we pay for it. Upon finishing our meal (decent pizza but nothing special) we were given the bill, and noticed that the original price of our pizza was crossed out and an additional ten dollars was added to the cost of the pizza. The menu listed the pizza as $20, which is already exuberant, but when the check came the waitress said that they had since raised to the price of the pizza to $30. She went on to say the menu wasn't updated. Sure, whatever. That $10 wasn't worth enough for us to argue on the spot so we just paid and left. However the principal was enough to leave us with a poor departing impression of the restaurant and to tell all of our friends and trip advisor of the shady practice of the waitress (from Alajuela, but can't remember her name) that night. I had since stopped back to verify that the menu price hadn't in fact changed before writing this. We probably would have tipped her that much anyway but fool me once... shame on you. Otherwise it was a nice setting, average pizza, with well above average prices. I probably won't be back.

“Absolutely delicioso”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Fantastic and inventive. And it was a bonus that it was connected to our hideaway of a hotel. Loved Costa Paraiso!

“The Best Dining Experience in Dominical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We were lucky to be staying at the villas Costa Paraiso where this amazing restaurant is located. We tried it because it was a great setting in which to have breakfast and were we ever pleasantly rewarded by this gem of a place! Not only was the flavor of the food incredible, it was all the special touches that made it exceptional. It was about the care taken to prepare it, the freshness of the ingredients, and the presentation that simply took it to another level. Top that with the magnificent view and there was no other place I'd rather have breakfast, anywhere. I can't end this review without mentioning the person who put it all together, the delightful Kate, Por Que No's newly appointed chef and restaurant manager. After meeting her, it became clear why our dining experience was the best of the entire trip. This woman is full of passion for what she does and possesses a radiant personality which is evident in her demeanor towards others, particularly her staff. She is grateful for her position, and her life and you can taste it in her food. So if you happen to be in the area, Por Que No, should really be a Claro Que Si!! on your list of places to dine.

“Amazing Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

They had an outdoor brick oven that they made their pizzas in. We ordered the meat lovers and the hawaiian and were unable to pick a favorite! The only thing that you may need to know if with a big group, they cook pizzas individually so they don't come out all at one time. The view there was also amazing! Definitely a must try!
