“Great trip. Fun guide!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

This is a well run operation. Our guides made the trip fun and entertaining. We made the trip in the dry season; so was warm and sunny and the Savergre River was low, but still fun. Would like to do it again when the river is pumping. The guides stopped along the way to sample exotic jungle plants. They had a guide just for action pictures which were free of charge. The lunch stop was a highlight too.

“WOW! A definite must do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

We visited Costa Rica last month and this was definitely a highlight of our stay. Dominical Surf Adventures operates a topflight white water rafting experience with an excellent team of professional, polite and knowledge tour guides. They each made our rafting experience from the drive to the river to the trip down the Savegre an "oh my G-d" fun filled adventure. We especially appreciated their sensitivity to our kosher dietary needs! Thank you to Norma and her entire team. We had a blast.

“Savegre River trip with the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We went on the Savegre river trip in February with our two daughtes (age 10 and 15). It was a great trip and the guides make eveything fun and educational. on the drive up to the river, the guides stopped at several places to show us the local plant life. They showed us cinnamon, lemongrass, guava, the plant chanel #5 is based on, etc. all before we got to the river. On the river, our guide, Luis, was awesome. He is a true local and would stop the raft and run up the side and come back with some amazing item from the wild, ginger root, vanilla, etc were some of the items. He is great with the kids and madd the trip special for them (and us). Request Luis as your guide for sure!! The river was very mellow so great for younger kids.

“great whitewater rafting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

The team at Dominical Surf Adventures gives you great background information on CR and the local area as they drive you to the river. The safety talk was complete, the gear is good, the boats are a blast and the trip is amazing even when the water is on the low side. The waterfall swim and lunch are very enjoyable. And the photos they get of your raft trip are priceless!!!

“Mangrove kayak tour - Could have been better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We took the mangrove kayak tour with Dominical Surf Adventures. A couple of days before we had done a similar tour with another company (Pineapple Kayak Tours). The DSA guide was not engaged in pointing out all the wildlife. He ignored the abundant water birds, and most other birds. There were eight of us on the tour, if you were not near the guide when he explained something, or pointed something out, you were out of luck. He made no effort to ensure everyone was involved. At one point we lagged behind and lost sight of the rest of the group. The guide did not come back to check on us.

We had requested a tandem kayak when we booked the tour and we were assured this was not a problem. On tour day there were two tandem kayaks, but a total of three couples wanted one. We agreed to take singles instead, but told the guide of our request. He told us other people asked for the tandems first(?). I'm contrast to the other outfitter, DSA did not provide binoculars, sufficient dry bags etc. However, the snack they provided at the end of the trip was excellent.
