Stayed at the Villas Alturas for a destination wedding --- a fantastic location at the top of a hill – private but close to town. Cindy, David, Oscar and Victoria went out of their way to make the weekend special with one delight after another. The villas are arranged for privacy, yet grouped around a pool and lanai where we would relax, eat, drink and enjoy the view. It was also a great place for the wedding ceremony with the ocean as a background. I’m not sure how they arranged it, but after the ceremony an incredible rainbow appeared in the sky. Once the sun set Cindy brought out Japanese lanterns that we launched into the night to bring good luck to the bride and groom. Cindy and her staff were such a part of the celebration that we had to make sure they were included in the wedding pictures! Can’t think of a more comfortable and unique location to celebrate a special occasion.

You must visit this gorgeous hotel. It is heaven on earth! My husband and I got married at Villas Alturas on Dec. 8 and had the most wonderful, unforgettable experience. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The views are utterly indescribable. You have to see it to believe it. At night, the sky is astounding. All of us were memorized by the infinite number of stars you could see. I think each of us saw at least 1 shooting star!

The rooms at Villas Alturas are extremely clean and comfortable with the perfect amount of privacy. Our room was very spacious and offered kitchen amenities and a huge shower. The hammock on the balcony was a staple for me.

Perhaps the best part of this hotel is the staff. As other reviewers mentioned, we felt like family. Our family joined us, for a total of 10 of us staying at Villas Altruas. We all had such a great time. The staff made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Cindy is so sweet, laid back, and accommodating. Victoria and Oscar were lots of fun and catered to our every need. They would frequently check in with us to make sure all was well and to see if we needed a cocktail, water, or anything at all. David cooked all of our meals, which we enjoyed very much. He baked our wedding cake (carrot cake), which was to die for! Cindy, Victoria, Oscar and David made our stay and wedding day so special and perfect.

I would love to go back Villas Alturas and will certainly recommend it to all of my friends. Next time, we would like to stay even longer. What a special, magical place. Also, if you're looking for a gorgeous and unique place to get married, Villas Alturas is the place to go!

My husband and I spent a week at Villas Alturas in early November. We enjoyed taking in the view from our expansive private balcony while eating fresh mango, which became a daily habit. We found the villas to be conveniently located with easy access to the highway and several beaches. The managers were very knowledgable about the area and provided great Southern Hospitality. Howler monkeys and Toucans were visible from our villa each afternoon. The pool was immaculate and overlooked the ocean, we couldn't have asked for more!

My girlfriend and I spend 3 nights at Villas Alturas in early October, 2012 and it was fantastic! First, I want to say I spend lots of time in Costa Rica and have travelled most of the country, so I'm not some young, impressionable Costa Rica Virgin! Second the Property - it's a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. Views are incredible and it's only a 10-minute drive or so to a couple of different little towns (Dominical and one I honestly can't recall). The villas are very private and come with safes, kitchens, porches, etc. Finally, Cindy was hosting some of her family members while were there and they adopted us and made us feel totally at home. There was a big "family" dinner one night, another night we had the massage people from town up and everybody got massages and one day we all caravanned down to Quepos and took the boat tour together. All it all it's a fantastic place to stay!
