Finca de Vida is a great place and definitely a highlight of Costa Rica! The owners Jody and Brian are so nice and really care and what a difference that makes! We met great guests and enjoyed getting to know the volunteers as well. And...to have bowls of fruit everywhere, quiet time in nature, a trip to the local waterfall and a chance to check out the weekly organic market...all bonuses that added up to a 5-star experience. I highly recommend!

I spent a week at Farm of Life with my wife and seven year old son in December 2012. It is truly a one of a kind place. The location is deeply beautiful, the bountiful produce is delicious, and the people and vibe of the place are amazing. It's a place for deep healing if that's what you're seeking but also just fun and relaxation. Jody and Brian and their wonderful volunteers create an incredibly warm, open atmosphere and share their knowledge generously. It also seems to attract great guests and the shared kitchen/hang out space creates the opportunity to meet folks if you're interested. We made fantastic new friends during our time there. Though there aren't lots of young kids there usually, our son absolutely loved it there. And, by the way, whether you're raw or not is no big deal, there's no judgment/pressure and each guest is supported in pursuing their own path. I can't wait to go back!

Everything you need to be comfortable yet stripped of things that weigh you down. Wonderful all the way around. If you really want to relax take a taxi! It is very remote and the road is seriously challenging. Brian and Jody have a great place with wonderful volunteers, guests, and staff. Exotic fruits magically appear in bowls throughout the day. You can use a machete and drink fresh coconut water. Nearby waterfalls are within walking distance. Be barefoot all day long. You may find you want to set your alarm for the sunrise. The scent of Llang Llang is everywhere. The kitchen is hub of activity and the best place to meet everyone. Brian is eager to share his knowledge and ideas and he loves you where you are. No judgement.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

Finca de Vida is THE ultimate place to heal. I spent a month on the farm in Dec 2012 in order to rehabilitate and heal from ulcerative colitis. Brian and Jodie were the most knowledgeable, supportive and generous hosts and looked out for me during my whole stay.Following a raw food diet healing plan as i was, was very easy here as all the fresh, organic fruits and veggies i required were available 24/7. I also learnt so much whilst i was at the farm, not just about diet and nutrition, but about how to get well and stay well wherever i might be in the world.

The farm is a sanctuary and is perfect for anyone looking to get away from the noise and hustle of city life and be immersed in the true sounds of nature. The setup is very inclusive and communal and the atmosphere is relaxed. There is plenty to keep you occupied for days without leaving the farm yet when you feel like action there is an array of affordable escursions on offer to keep you satisfied.

I liked that there was no formal structure for each day. I was always in control of my own time and could arrange to do things as i pleased. The staff were always accomodating and were very flexible. Health and life coaching is on offer if you seek it yet nothing is ever pushed onto you since there is no 'programme' to sign up to.

There really is a family atmosphere at Finca de Vida and I had a lot of fun at the same time as making great strides in healing from chronic disease. I had the most unforgetable experience and i am already thinking about how and when to go back there.

Room Tip: Tucan lodge has stunning views of the valley and is pretty spacious - good for a small family. The L...

We spent 3 weeks at Farm of Life and it was amazing. There are beautiful views, and you can see the Pacific Ocean over the hills. There are very good organic fruits and veggies. One of my favourite fruit when i was there (in December) was biriba (I hope you will plant more biribas, guys :) ). And is a perfect place for the people who want silence, meditation and for the people who want adventures (there are many tours at the waterfalls, seaside, national park, rafting). When we stayed there we wanted more relaxation and to work on our spiritual side. We found interesting books in their bookshelf : spiritual books, detox books, travelling in Costa Rica books, a variety of good books. Brian and Jody can help you there, if you have some spiritual, mental or body problems. They are good ''teachers'' in this problems. There, with al the guests we felt like we are all a family, we had some very lovely moments. Thank you Brian and Jody, and Stephan and Itzel, too.

Room Tip: the butterfly room is a very nice room for couples and it has a beautiful view, too

Thank you Jody and Brain and Stephan and Topher and Frank and Christina and Teresa!
All of you inspire me to be a better more centered person. Your sincere care in helping me heal was indeed healing itself. The Farm was peaceful, comforting, and a testament to taking an idea to making it come to fruition! The world is such a better place because all of you are in it! And because the farm of life is there for more people to heal like me!

Thanks again and hope to be back later this year!
