“We love Rancho Tranquilo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

We visited Rancho Tranquilo the first time a year ago for a horseback ride. Linda is a terrific host and her horses are the best cared for horses you'll see in Costa Rica. The area is absolutely beautiful with its many waterfalls This year we came back to stay for 10 days in her cabina. It was very nice and comfortable and had everything that you would want. It was so relaxing sitting in rocking chairs overlooking the mountains, the horses playing and the many birds. The sunsets are amazing! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful setting away from all the tourists.

“Land of a 1000 waterfalls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

I kind of fell into this Rancho Tranquilo by accident and I was more than surprised. I arrive late at night and could barely see the mountains it was so dark but when I laid back in a deck chair outside my room and looked up at the sky I saw more stars than I have ever seen in my life. The next morning I woke to the sound of howling monkeys in the distance, horses running free in their pasture and exotic birds singing just outside my window.
I explored the valley for 3 days, horseback riding, ATV’s, hiking and muttering OMG.
Linda the owner exceeded my every expectations with her hospitality and genuine kindliness.
Rancho Tranquilo is defiantly at the top of my bucket list for a return destination. Put it on yours and I promise you an experience that you will never forget.

“Lovely horseback ride through the mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Linda, the owner, gave us a custom-designed tour to meet our needs. She takes great pride in her horses, which is what attracted me to her company. The horses and equipment are in great shape, obviously well taken care of. She fed us wonderful homemade pizza in her home after the ride. Overall it was a great day.

“Rancho Tranquilo is a must for all horse/nature lovers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Families/honeymooners,mature couples(us!) & singles(male/females) friendly. Safe, and beautiful area/land. Direct access to mountains and beach...Not to mention the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica and fresh swimming holes for cooling off after a ride. Her directions to the ranch were flawless. So are her horses, healthy and happy says it all. The community knows her and calls her Linda/friend and neighbor. We were fortunate to spend some time at the ranch and get to know her. We will definetly go back, for rides, instruction and some of her famous pizza. She may arrange other tours as requested and the rental cabina on the property has us looking at Toucans! Holler monkeys in the lower valley...Amazing sunsets over the mountains facing the Pacific Ocean...Whale watching is 30minutes away in Uvita. Perfect home base, away from the coastal heat/humidity and crowds. Your own private hideaway!

“Excellent Time at Rancho Tranquilo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Linda is a wonderful horsewoman and she and the tour I rode with that day are warm, patient, friendly and professional. The horses are in excellent shape and *extremely* well cared for. All horses were clean, healthy, well fed and happy. (Something I look for when I take tour rides!) The landscape is breathtaking, the horses are sane and the pizza is absurdly delicious! Would recommend to anyone.
