Heres the most important bit for you - Turn up and ask at the desk and if they have a room it will cost you $109, if you have AAA membership you save $9- forget all that, walk into reception and log onto the computer in there, google the holiday inn website and book it for as low as $71 right there in the lobby - then send me the money you saved (just kidding)
it's hard to see why this is a Holiday inn express - for minimal effort it could be a holiday inn. Good enough breakfast, helpful staff and a seriously oversized car park ( we has a 30ft RV and no problems.
The hotel is a short walk from Boot Hill (yes it is a real place) and a short drive (5 minutes) from the historic Tombstone. Sat Nav does not find the hotel, don't worry it is on the main route into Tombstone (if you've been to Bisbee, the main route out).
If you need to eat in Tombstone, do it early, everywhere closes at 8, but we ate at the Depot and not only was the meal truly excellent, you get 10% off if you stay at the Holiday Inn. Monday nights - eat Pizza or diet, it seemed to be the only place open but again - good enough for the money and very good eating.
Nice pool, great hot tub and well worth the trip.
Whatever you do, pay the few dollars more to go into the Birdcage
and ask the nice lady to direct you to the film set used in "Tombstone" a free trip out and just a few miles from the interstate.
Loved this hotel, douby it we'll ever be back though - pity!
