“Guided Horse Riding for Children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

We took our two grand-children for their first horseback riding lessons on horses (not ponies) at the Apache Spirit Ranch. They are four and six. It was the highlight of their Christmas visit. Cody, their guide taught them to use the reins to turn the horse and was patient and watchful but also let them try to manage the horses on their own. The location is lovely with views of the Dragoon Mountains and unspoiled desert. Everyone was friendly; we hung around in the bar for a while and played bingo and pool. My husband and I live in Bisbee only 30 miles away but are considering coming to stay overnight sometime as a closeby getaway. The Ranch is near Tombstone and Kartchner Caverns.

We spent one night but will certainly go back for an extended stay. Close to Tombstone but away from the traffic and city noise. Great place for kids, they even have a pony for little ones to walk and pet. Nicest people, beautiful setting, great food, all made for a great experience.

An amazing & wonderful place where you can forget the stress and find yourself. You'll never forget the days at the ranch. Horseback riding, a lot of activities, music, campfire evenings and a lot more. We plan our next trip to Tombstone AZ as soon as possible.

If you want to get away from it all in a themed setting - look no further. This place is it. They have excellent instructors for riding horses, scenic country to ride in, and decent food too. Not far from Tombstone proper and easily accessible from Tucson.

My wife and I along with my brother and his wife spent a night at the Apache Spirit Ranch for my wife's birthday. We were extremely excited to go to a ranch to do some riding, which we had not done in many a year. The reservation was fairly simple and we were able to make them quickly. I on line and my brother by phone. Checking in was very easy and we immediately signed up for the afternoon ride. It was excellent. Very scenic and interesting on very well behaved mounts. We loved the all inclusive meals. The food was outstanding. Staff was extremely friendly and went the extra mile to accomodate us. While watching the entertainment we were planning a longer visit with our grand kids. In the end we were disappointed that we stayed a night in Tombstone. We should have stayed the extra night at the Ranch. My wife still has a grin from ear to ear and I am still jazzed about the trail rides. The Middleton clan heartily recommends Apache Spirit Ranch for a horse related vacation. Loved it and we are planning on returning soon.

Spent last weekend at Apache Spirit Ranch in Tombstone, AZ. Horseback riding, shooting vintage guns, playing Texas Hold'em, enjoying the jacuzzi...who could ask for more. Friendly, flexible, and helpful staff. Great time.
