My husband and I have toured in the US for the last 4 years. This year we started and finished in Houston covering 6000 miles between 27 September and 25 October 2007. Tombstone was already on our agenda as we both grew up watching Western films and are still intrigued by these legends.
Only by chance did we arrive in Tombstone on the morning of Friday 19th October which just happened to be the first day of the 2007 Helldorado weekend. How lucky we were, we had the most fantastic experience. It was just like stepping back in time or into a Wild West movie.
The main streets were buzzing with everyone dressed up and attractions taking place all day. We had originally only planned to stay for the day but we managed to secure the last vacant room at The Tombstone Motel. This worked out great as it was right in the centre of town and enabled us to enjoy all the entertainment of the saloons in the evening.
Over the years my husband and I have been fortunate enough to share some wonderful experiences in the US but we have to agree Tombstone is one of those high on the list for us!
