Former Amerisuites, converted to a Holiday Inn Express. Plasma screen tv's, free wi-fi, new furnishings.

Great location next to AZ Mills mall (more of an outlet center).

Several fast food restaurants nearby. Accomodating staff.

No shuttle (which is advertized on their webiste)

Easy access to public transport. Pharmacy next door.

Enjoyable stay overall.

Upon arrival my dog and I were welcomed by a friendly and accomodating staff which continued throughout the stay.
The room was a good size with a refrigerator, microwave and kitchenette area which came in handy for a 3 day stay. I heard no street noise as mentioned by previous reviews and the location provided easy access to the local freeway systems. They are currently undergoing renovation so the daytime was a bit noisy but all work was ended by 4:30 so this was not too much of a problem.
This hotel is dog friendly and provides a large grassy area for the dogs. The pool area is large with a nice relaxing environment.
The location is also near a few nice restaurants, as well as fast food places and easy access to gas stations, in addition to its location next to the Arizona Mills Mall.
Coffee is available in the lobby and popcorn is served in the evening. The morning breakfast was only fair (I had better at a La Quinta).
One other drawback is the very limited television stations available, if that is important to you. There again I had a better selection when I stayed at a LaQuinta.
One thing that I found interesting security wise is that there was a sign indicating that you needed to get in the back door by using your room key, however it opened with no need for a key at all. Perhaps this was disabled due to the renovation. It did however ring at the desk when the door was opened and there were cameras visible at the desk for observation of certain areas.
All in all I would, definitely, recommend this hotel and found the staff to be particularly friendly, yet professional.
For those who travel with their dogs this hotel is a good option.

My husband had made a mistake by booking the AmeriSuites out by the airport and when he changed at the last minute to the AmeriSuites on Baseline, that's when the problems began. When we checked in we asked for a non-smoking room on any lower floor. They said they had none. We were put on the top floor(6th). When we got to the floor it smelled like a chimney and the room was the WORST. Smelled awful. The rug was frayed on the ends and there were smoke burns on the rug as well. We aired it out after 2 days with air-conditiong.There were NO fitted bed sheets our our twin beds and they were poorly made & not tucked in. I got flea bites for the first couple of nights. There is constant traffic noise from Baseline Drive. Thank God we had brought an ocean machine and I finally took a xanax. Happy Hour is not happy. It's popcorn and coffee. No wine or beer or cocktails. There is no jacuzzi even though on the AmeriSuites web sites, they mention it as an amenity. The plus factors is a nice looking entry to hotel but I didn't see why they would mop floors in the morning with yellow cones every where as you walk out the door. Why not mop between 2 and 4 in the morning when folks are sleeping? Also Arizona Mills is a 5 minutes walk from hotel. Same with Claim Jumper and Joe's Crab Shack. One parting note: We left a day early because we couldn't stand the smoke smell and when we mentioned to the operations manager, he didn't budge. Didn't comp us another night for another time or even give some kind of credit. If you're staying off Baseline Road, stay at the Ramada, Holiday Inn Express, or the Residence Inn.

We stayed one night here, very satisfactory. Within walking distance to the Arizona Mills Shopping complex so made use of that. Reception very courteous and helpful. Rooms OK, we stayed 4 adults in one room so used pull-out sofa which was not too comfortable but OK. Breakfast was OK, plenty of it if required but coffee had run out and was not replaced. It was an OK overnight stop.
