We are locals who just wanted a little stay-cation for the 4th of July, and a great place to watch the Tempe Town Lake firewords. We loved this hotel! The roof top pool is beautiful, complete with cabana's, towels and a cantina. PLUS it's a salt water pool. You can see the Tempe Lakes 4th of July firewords from the pool. We were impressed with the cleanliness and cozy southwestern style of the hotel in general. We ate at Harry's Grille Saturday and the main restaurant Sunday morning for brunch. Both were outstanding. (I have to recommend the baked brie! ) The desk staff were always friendly, helpful and gave us a discount - on a holiday weekend no less - even tho we forgot to mention AAA members when booking. Walking around downtown Tempe was great fun and we found a trendy, delicious pizza and wine bar we hadn't known about (LaBocca). Everything on Mill Ave. is open late. The hotel courtyard itself is beautiful and includes a huge outside seating area for the restaurant. One thing I liked very much is that the hotel rooms are across the court yard and seperate from the lobby and bar/grille and gift shop. Although the pool was on our floor, we never heard any noise and there were ton's of kids there this weekend. The room was plenty large with a very comfy bed. Someone mentioned it was hard to get cool water out of the faucets. Yes, even the water get's warm in the summer here. Once you realize it's not the plumbing it's not a big deal. The air conditioning worked perfectly throughout the entire hotel, the service was always friendly and helpful. For our money this was a great weekend and a great value. We will be back!

Printing my boarding pass by the front desk was an added bonus. I was at a conference - the food was great. I enjoyed this hotel and felt very comfortable walking around the neighborhood in the evening. It's easy to catch the hotel shuttle to and from the airport. (PS - this is a pet friendly hotel, only saw one well-behaved dog - we shared an elevator!). Very close to the ASU campus.

I arrived early in the morning and called the hotel for a free shuttle pickup, they were there in 15 minutes, had a very friendly driver. Was able to check in early no problem.. Had quite a few meals at both restaurants and up at the pool, everything was good...especially the cucumber margaritas at Harry's Bar, you must try one of those. All the staff were friendly and helpful.. from the front door to all the servers especially the nice bartenders by the pool. Room was pretty nice, I faced the entrance to the hotel, and it was pretty quiet there. Bathrooms are a little small...and newer tv's would be nice. Location is awesome, in walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants and the ASU campus...All in all I had a great time and will stay here again on my next trip to Tempe.

Traveling with our baby can be tough and generally involves lots of special requests. No matter what the request, including keeping food refridgerated at the pool, the hotel staff always exceeded our expectations. We stay here every year and always look forward to our return.

The hotel employees were courteous and professional. My room was clean. My bed was very comfortable and I had a great view of the pool/courtyard. The concierge gave me great suggestions on where to dine and sites to see in Tempe.

Seems like it was a nice hotel when it was built some 30-40 years ago, but a little run down now. We were there for a wedding, and the front desk gave out the keys to the honeymoon suite to someone who wanted to "prank" the room. They didn't even ask for any identification, just "here you go" to a complete stranger.

For ourselves, we had our dog with us, so I called and they said they were a pet-friendly hotel, you would just have to leave a $25 deposit. That seemed reasonable, but when we checked out, the "$25 Pet Deposit" was included on our bill. I asked when that would be refunded, and was told never. What? It's not a deposit, it's a fee. We were told it was a deposit, and it even says deposit right on the bill, but the rude woman behind the desk didn't care.

If you're thinking of getting married here, keep in mind that the hotel is directly below the flight path coming into the city's major airport. There will be low-flying jets coming over every 2-3 minutes.

Overall, a half-decent place with terrible customer service.
