“Excellent Service and Property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

The Tempe Mission Palms hotel in Tempe, AZ was the location of a recent trip of mine. The occaison was a meeting of a failry large group (70-100) of folks of which this group holds quarterly meetings around the US.

We have been in some good, great and really scarey locations.

The Mission Palms fits into the Excellent class of sites used.

The rooms were large, clean. The bathroom clean, the water hot and even had a vent fan (don't see that much).

It was really nice that the valet parking is free and so is the internet. The location is in downtown Tempe, very near AZ State Univ. Lots of places to eat within walking distance.

The staff was very helpful, the bar was open and reasonable in price. The Mission Cafe has a wonderful breakfast and Harry's Place has good food in the evening.

Many of the group were heard saying we will be back.

Perfect location if you are participating in PF Chang's Rock & Roll Marathon. Park your car and leave it throughout your stay as you can walk out the front door to the start of the 1/2 marathon . . . a few blocks you are at the finish line, light rail stop to travel to downtown Phoenix, Mill Avenue, "A" Mountain and Tempe Town Lake. Enjoyed the outdoor pool/hot tub area, as well as fireplaces and lobby seating with relaxing ambiance. If you love airplanes you will enjoy watching flyovers enroute to/from PHX Sky Harbor.

This is a great place for business meetings and individuals. We had a meeting there and they have a great snack hut for everyone to visit. It is so hard to plan food for meetings and in particular breaks. They have a great variety. The meals were good and the meeting space was nice too. I enjoyed the room as well. Close to all kinds of restaurants and activities as well. If you want to plan a meeting in a nice location, consider this awesome location!

Room Tip: Higher the better in my opinion..

Beautiful grounds, comfortable, large hotel room, friendly staff. Right in the middle of shops and restaurants in Tempe's downtown district and river. The swimming pool was not heated so didn't use it.

I usually book flight and hotel on the amazingly convenient hipmunk.com. But this time my conference arrangers did it all for me. The hotel shuttle to/from the airport is very convenient. The rooms are clean and comfy and just the right size. The 2 internal restaurants are fine, but literally just across the street are several excellent dining spots. The staff are on their game and quite helpful. My only negative at checkout was that I was charged for 4 separate meals. I queried this noting that two were incorrect. By the time I had taken the shuttle and checked in at the airport, I received an email that it was all fixed.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Tempe Mission Palms on Tripadvisor. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at the hotel and that you found our location to be convenient. Not only do we have the two restaurants, but we are within 3 blocks of over 50 restaurants and bars! We apologize that there was a mistake on your room charges, but were glad to hear that they were quickly fixed. We hope you stay with us again soon, and thank you again for the review.

Nice meeting rooms, a "snack center" that is just great for breaks with a variety of food and drinks.
Rooms are nice, service is good, concierge is solid. Great location, walking distance to lots of places, which is very different than many of the resorts out in Scottsdale. Airport shuttle service, but it was very slow for us. Bar has a limited wine list, but it's not bad. Bar closes at midnight, but several in the area are open until 2. Great pool, hot tub, exercise area. Tennis courts too, but I didn't try it. Only negative is I forgot my shaving cream -- every other comparable, or even lower-quality, hotel I've been in before would give you a small complimentary portion. Here they told me to come back in the morning and buy it from their store.

This could be the best conference hotel I've been to - the food was excellent and the snack bar for breaks is an awesome idea. This is: a small shack set up outside the conference area with a great variety of snacks & drinks - far better than wheeling in a cart during a meeting.

The rooms were clean and comfy. Internet was fast & easy. Valet parking was easy, friendly and fast. The staff was friendly every time we asked anything at all.

Great location; walking distance to plenty of places to eat and a shopping district.

My company paid for the stay, so I wasn't faced with the 'convenience fee'. I can't comment on the rate (no idea what we paid) but I do not like any fee at all for internet access. The fee ($12.95) does also cover valet, which is great. If you aren't bothered by the fee, or if you add it in and are happy with your rate, do stay here.
