“Disappointing stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Five of us stayed here for two nights in August while moving my daughter into ASU. There are many good things about this place; cafe and bar in the lobby, generous breakfast in the morning, and free WiFi. However, there was a maintenance problem in the room we originally reserved so they moved us to an accessible room. After taking a shower water leaks into the bedroom leaving the carpet wet all the time. Renting movies each night proved to be a major hassle--the movies often stop playing half way through. Finally, at check out, they could not give me a print out of my bill to confirm the charges. They told me this is because we booked with a third party (priceline.com). They claimed they would email me the bill and I'm still waiting for it several weeks later. I must admit that the price we paid was great, but this time of year in Tempe all the hotels have great prices, so I'll likely stay somewhere else next time.

Excellent customer service. Thank you Matthew, at the front desk for making us feel welcome. We stayed for one night on August 25th. This was our second stay at a Hyatt Place. We really like the room design, with the double beds and comfortable living area.

Particularly at the Tempe , airport facility the service is very detailed and attentive. A stone's throw away from the airport.

Room Tip: request pool side. Just looks nicer.

We had pre-paid our room for 2 nights. One week prior to our stay we requested that we change our reservation for another date at another Hyatt property. When calling the hotel directly we were told by the person at the front desk that "the Manager wouldn't talk to you". What? What kind of service is that? We then checked into the Hyatt a day earlier than our initial reservation, and requested that we were able to leave a day earlier (still paying for the 2 nights originally pre-paid). When we tried to speak with the Manager their response? "Oh, I've heard about you people". This is the type of staff they have working at this hotel. This is how they treat their customers. I would find another hotel in the same area...there are MANY better options with much better customer service.

Room Tip: Just don't bother making a reservation here!

Stayed herre because of an early morning departure from Sky Harbor. Standard Hyatt amentities. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Good value for the price.

Pros
1) VERY close to airport
2) Very close to Arizona State
3) Great breakfast

Cons
1) Nothing much right around the hotel - requires driving

Room Tip: Stay on other than the first floor

Great place to stay great location and great staff. Everyone did an excellent job of making the stay a great one. The hotel offers van service to many locations in the area, such as Mill Road, the light rail, and so forth.the only issue I had with the hotel is the terrible design of the bathroom door. It is awful! To close the door from inside it is necessary to stand next to the toilet.

Ok hotel, but nothing to write home about - even by Hyatt Place standards. Staff was friendly, if a bit confused, and the shuttle is a nice amenity - but you have to call them in advance for them to come pick you up, which can take 20-30 minutes.

We always stay at this Hyatt Place because it's the halfway point of our drive to California. It's reliably clean and friendly. If airplane noise bothers you, this isn't the place for you, but it provides great entertainment for our toddler. It's location near Rio Salado Park and the zoo is perfect. I'd stay here if I was flying too.

Room Tip: We got a room with just a shower, so be sure to ask if you need a tub.
